A great temple tour that exceeded our expectations. - Our tour guide was M. and we were very pleased with how well he took care of us during the day. It was an exceedingly hot day and 12 hours jumping in and out of temples could have been miserable since the temperatures reached almost 100° F. But M. Made sure that we were well hydrated and that the car had the air conditioning running. It was always waiting for us when we returned from each visit. He made sure we had snacks to keep our blood sugar up and plenty of water and lots of information about all of the temples. He also answered all kinds of questions we had about Thailand and when he didn’t know the answer, he searched online until he found it and gave it to us. All in all he was delightful and fun and an excellent guide. He also had brought along a very careful driver, who guided us safely through some difficult construction zones that went on for miles. While we were tired at the end of the day, we were also very happy with everything that had happened during the day. At the beginning of the day, he asked us about our food preferences, and allergies and level of spiciness and then pick a restaurant that was just right and delivered a decent amount of spice without killing us. We loved it and everything else about the tour.

Chang Rei: Beautiful Temples - The temples were beautiful. Our favorite was the white temple but they each had their own thing about them that made them special. Tong was our tour guide and did a great job at helping us with pictures and providing us information. He's a great guy and wants you to feel comfortable on the tour. I recommend seeing this and with Tong!

Fabulous guide/driver and beautiful temples - Our guide/driver, Tong, was outstanding! He was so friendly and kind. His English was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and taught us so much about both the temples we visited and the history of the entire region. He had abundant cold water and soft drinks available for us on this incredibly HOT day and took such good care of us, even treating us to the most delicious coconut ice cream, ever. 10/10 recommend! (And the temples were incredible, too!)

The temples and statues are fabulous. - Our tour started at our hotel in Chiang Mai, where we were met by our guide, "M". He was punctual and very courteous and spoke good English. The drive to Chiang Rai was around three and a half hours and on the way we stopped for a coffee break at the Taweesin Hot Spring. Our first main visit, just outside of Chiang Rai, was to Wat Rong Khun, also known as the white temple. Built around 1997, the use of thousands of small pieces of mirrored glass within the white plaster structure adds to the almost surreal nature of the building. Our second visit was to Rong Suea Ten, or the Blue Temple which was completed in 2016. The blue colour apparently represents the wisdom and purity of the Buddha and the designs and patterns depict the path to enlightenment. I thought that quite a number of the designs were quite dark in nature. For lunch, our guide took us to a small, traditional Thai restaurant where we ate the same food as the locals, including noodles with beef and chicken blood jelly. This was the first time that I'd tried the latter, which was very tasty. Our third visit was to the Wat Huay Pla Kang temple and the Guan Yin statue. Access to the top of this 25 storey statue is via one of two lifts and is well worth the few baht that is charged for this service. The intricate designs within the upper two levels are well worth seeing, as are the views of the local landscape. Our final stop was about 50km southwest of Chiang Rai at Wat Sang Kaew, also known as the Rainbow Temple. By the time we arrived, there was a heavy rain storm and with many of the interesting statues being outside, our visit was somewhat shorter than intended, but we still saw everything that we wanted to look at. I can thoroughly recommend this tour. There is so much to see and all of the temples and statues are just stunning. The trip was made even better thanks to the knowledge that we gained from our local guide.

28th Anniversary - An interesting tour for temple and history lovers. The guide was very informative about the temples and their history. The only thing I didn't like was the way the driver was driving without taking safety precautions, but I recommend it.
