Cruise on Lake St Lucia - It's one of the must excursions when in St Lucia ... the cost of R380 per adult for a 2 hour trip on the Santa Lucia. There are 3 pods of hippos with approximately 20 per pod that we were able to view. Surprisingly, no crocodiles .. apparently with the changes in the eco system, the crocodiles are not as visible as previously

Great tour - The guidance and seeing of species. You could do better with selling of snacks and drinks even on the smaller boats

Peaceful boat cruise - The boat cruise was a little disappointing. The mic had a lot of static so it was difficult to understand what the guide was saying. There are two levels on the boat but we stayed on the bottom in terms of hoping to get some close up photographs and hopefully hear the descriptions better. I believe almost everyone in our group ended up on the ground level for the same reasons. The birdlife and their nests was a highlight of the ride. At the time of our visit, there was very little wildlife. We did see hippos! You are never promised to see any wildlife, it is a matter of luck when and where the animals are. I would still give them a try as you never know and it is always wonderful to be out on the water.

Pleasant 2 hour river cruise with little action - Visited these Wetlands as part of a day out from our Cruise Ship docked at Richards Bay. Basically a nearly 2 hour coach ride each way, and a 2 hour afternoon boat boat ride, along a wide river estuary, where we saw lots of Hippos heads, a glimpse of a small crocodile and some colourful birds. Would have been a pleasant afternoon if staying locally, but little reward for such a long trip. The boat itself was ok, they provided us with vouchers for 2 drinks, and gave a decent commentary, trying to make what was basically a bit boring, into something interesting

Wrong time of day - I have no complaints regarding the excursion itself. The boat was good, the commentary was interesting and educational and the weather was excellent. We just went at the wrong time of day. The hippos were all in the water and not very visable and we saw very little other wildlife - zero crocs. It was a pleasant ride on the estuary, just not much wildlife to see.

A good socializing boat cruise - Trip was great to be on the estuary and seeing some wildlife. Guides were friendly Trip itself (boat in motion) was not approximately 2 hours its was just over an hour due to delays with battery and we were rushed back to make time for bext cruise. Trip was supposed to leave at 12pm but left at 12.20pm and we were back before 1.55pm. Regardless of trip duration we did have a great mainly because of socializing with other patrons.

Heaps of Hippo's and one Crocodile - We visited St Lucia on a private tour from our Cruise ship.We were looking forward to observing, hippo, crocodile and bird life during this cruise. Sadly only one crocodile appeared but we managed to get very close to it. There were plenty of Hippo's and we saw an African Fish Eagle, Yellow weavers and egrets.. There was ample room on the boat to move around to take photo's. It was a good way to spend a couple of hours on a boat, just a pity about the elusive crocodiles.

Tranquil but boring - The scenery is magnificent, calming and you can actually fall into sleep. But there's nothing much to see except pod of hippos all over and a very few bird species. We saw 1 large lizard, not a single crocodile. There was a Impala but was too far, only the gentleman with binoculars confirmed it. Also its strange that there is no speed point on board yet internet service was sufficient throughout.
