Jvari Church - Our tour begins at the Jvari Monastery, an ancient temple dating back to the 6th century AD, located near Georgia’s ancient capital, Mtskheta. Perched atop a high mountain, it offers stunning views of the surrounding area, where the turbulent waters of the Aragvi and Kura rivers meet. The temple draws thousands of tourists due to its architecture, location, and historical significance. The name of the church translates from Georgian as “the cross” and has its own unique history, which we will share with you there.

Mtskheta - Our next destination is Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia and a museum city that, like Jvari Monastery, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Inhabited for 2,500 years, it was once the capital of the early Kingdom of Iberia. This historic town is home to many ancient monuments, including the Pompey Bridge, a stone bridge over the Kura River built around 65 BC during the time of Pompey the Great, Bebris Castle from the 1st century, and the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, one of the most sacred places and the main Christian Orthodox Cathedral where Christ’s robe is said to be buried.

The Chronicle Of Georgia - Our final stop is the Chronicle of Georgia, a massive stone monument often referred to as the “Georgian Stonehenge” or “Georgian History Memorial.” This monument, designed and created by Zurab Tserteli, depicts scenes from Georgia’s 3,000-year history and consists of 16 large columns, each reaching a height of around 35 meters. The top part of the columns features the most notable and powerful kings, queens, and heroes of Georgia. Additionally, the monument offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Tbilisi Lake.
