Highlights
  • Seoul - Among the many hiking trails in Mt. Bukhan, one of the best scenic views is from the Hidden Wall trail, according to many hikers. This trail begins at the Bamgol in Bukhan-dong, in Goyang-si (city), Gyeonggi-do (Gyeonggi Province). It is a fun course. People will find a little steep ascent early on. They have to pass rocks and valleys. For those who know the charms of hiking an untamed mountain path, however, this trail can reward them with one of the best views of the mountain and a sense of grand satisfaction. The Hidden Wall got its name as it is situated between Baegundae and Insubong peaks. The huge, singular rock makes people realize the magnificence and greatness of nature, even though they are still within Seoul city limits. Once atop the rock, people will forget about the path’s difficulty and enjoy the picturesque view of Insubong and Baegundae peaks and the cool mountain breeze. Also, when they get to the rock, they can fully enjoy the view of the two mountain summits.

Additional Information

Although cities usually don’t host national parks, Seoul, uniquely, is home to the Bukhansan Mountain, which was officially declared Korea’s 15th national park in 1983. This national park stands as a green oasis amidst the bustling urban landscape. It draws its popularity from over 20 million residents living nearby. The park is not just rich in natural beauty, but also has numerous historical and cultural landmarks, including the majestic Bukhansanseong Fortress with a history stretching back over 2,000 years, as well as over 100 sanctuaries of Buddhist monks and temples. The hiking trail begins at the Bamgol park ranger station, proceeds up the Bagundae peak via the hidden wall ridge, descends onto a path leading to the Bukhansan mountain fortress wall, and concludes at the Bukhansansung park ranger station.

Great hiking to Mt. Bukhansan - It was our second tour with Tagy travel. I and my wife had a great time. We finished 5hours hikinging Mt. Bukhan with Henry's experienced and safe guidance. Henry was very experienced, warm, friendly and helpful. Beyond guiding us safely, he explained in detail about Korea's mountain hiking and outdoor culture. He prepared hiking sticks and delicious snacks to help us continue our hike. It was an opportunity to feel the fantastic beauty of Korea. Highly recommend
