Great hiking tour with exceptional guide! - The hike to the peak of the volcano Conception was strenuous, to be honest, but absolutely worth it. Even though there was no view from the top due to the clouds (which is most likely to happen), the view from a bit below was quite spectacular. And my personal highlight: My guide Ronald who made this trip absolutely unique and amazing!

Guide went ABOVE and BEYOND - STRONGLY recommend using this tour group! My guide was Donald and it was just me and him on the tour and as a female solo traveler he made sure I felt safe and secure in many ways. Throughout the hike he checked up on me to see how I was feeling and then afterwards when my ATV stopped working he helped me get it working again and then if that wasn’t enough, he connected me to his taxi cab friend so that I had a safe ride back to San Juan when I left Ometepe. Truly went above and beyond. On the hike he also brought and extra water bottle and some lunch for us to share which was extra special and kind of him. Overall great guide and person and I am grateful to have had his guidance throughout this hiking experience (especially cause it was my first volcano hike).

Donald is amazing - We had an amazing experience Donald was outstanding. I would highly recommend. Took five hours to go up and for to go down.

Hiking - I did the hike with the guide Donald a few days ago. It was just us to together and a very nice experience. He talked English well and had many interesting stories and facts to tell. I will really recommend the trip!

Difficult but fun - The 7.4 mile climb up Conception Volcano was one of the most challenging/dangerous due to all the loose rocks and dead wet leaves littering the non existent trail. I was covered in sweat, mud/volcanic ash, dirt on my face & in my nails, cuts, blood, & bruises on my hands and bum (luckily no other injuries), unfortunately clouds covered the view up top, and there were many insects/bugs 🐜🍃🦟… but it was so much fun and the full of gorgeous leafy greens and monkeys 🐒.

Realy good experience! - We realy enjoyed our day with our guide Donald. He has a lot of experience and gave us good tips for the climbing. He is realy good in english and friendly. The climbing is difficult but doable. Donald let us take pauses as we needed. I recommend!

Stress free travel and great guide! - Happy Tours Ometepe provided a stress free and excellent experience. Donald was fantastic from the moment he collected us from the ferry port. He was enthusiastic, helpful, informative, and made our trip easy from the moment we met him. His communication was always clear and useful which made getting to the island easier and his punctuality and assistance was faultless. I cannot fault this trip - perfecto!

Perfect hike with far-reaching views over Ometepe - There were two of us travelling and we were ready for a challenge. The hike up the volcano was spectacular and physically challenging, but every step towards the summit was worth it. Once we got to the top of the volcano, a great view with a cloudless sky awaited us. The guide was sociable and impressed us with his knowledge of the island and culture.

All-round successful experience with the best guide - The three of us did the tour to Concepion with Donald as our guide. He is an excellent guide, knows a lot (plants, animals, etc.), is super friendly and has a talent for languages! He also has a good feel for the group and the pace. I would recommend everyone to book a tour with Donald! Thank you very much :-)

To do without hesitation - Very good time spent with Donaldo who was very available, gave good advice on the steps to Ometepe and taught us lots of interesting things about his country. I highly recommend.
