A Stroll Through History: The Grounds of Mount Vernon

While the Enslaved Persons guided tour was sold out, the self-guided version allowed us to explore the structures and memorials dedicated to those who lived in bondage on the estate. It was a sobering reminder of the realities of the past, and an essential part of understanding the full history of Mount Vernon.
