- Sourdough Ridge Trail - Mount Rainier National Park is the jewel of the Pacific Northwest. With Mount Rainier towering over the Cascade mountain range at 14,411 feet, the mountain is impossible to miss.
We’ll journey from downtown Seattle to Sunrise Visitor’s Center on the North side of Mount Rainier. From there we’ll put on our hiking shoes and tackle the Burroughs Trail.
Burroughs Mountain has been described as a mountain against a mountain. At over 7800 feet, Burroughs Mountain sets right up against the northeastern face of Mount Rainier, hugging the Winthrop Glacier. It offers one of the most dramatic views of Washington’s largest volcano.
The hike is moderate to challenging six miles. There is no technical climbing and those in moderate to fit condition will find this hike to be both challenging and rewarding. You don’t need special gear or prior experience - just an adventurous spirit!

You will be guided on a semi-exclusive trek via the Three Burroughs Trail located in Mount Rainier National Park. The trail, approximately six miles long, meanders above the tree line through high subalpine tundra and then descends through lush mountain meadows. This journey offers expansive views of the mountains and is bursting with wildflowers.
