Standing out from the terrain of the Great Rift Valley is Mount Longonot, a dormant volcano with a distinctive forest densely packed within its crater. Spectacularly scenic vistas across the picturesque Rift Valley stretching towards Lake Naivasha can be savoured from the rim of the crater. A plethora of wildlife reside on Mount Longonot, including buffaloes, elands, lions, leopards, bushbucks, common zebras, giraffes, and Grant’s gazelles. Lake Naivasha, in contrast, is a haven for various bird species and hippos.
