After breakfast, the journey begins with a drive to the Marangu Gate for climb registration. The trek starts through a lush rainforest, where wildlife such as Colobus monkeys may be seen. The day concludes with an overnight stay at Mandara Hut.

The summit attempt begins around midnight, with a steep ascent over scree and volcanic rock to Gilman’s Point (5,685m), continuing to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro. Witness the stunning sunrise from the Roof of Africa before descending back to Kibo Hut for a brief rest, then proceed to Horombo Hut.

Horombo Hut (3,720 m) – Marangu Gate at 1,980 m – Then Drive to Moshi/Arusha

Distance: 20 km (12.4 miles)

Enjoy a pleasant descent through the moorlands and rainforest, passing Mandara Hut on the way to Marangu Gate. Here, summit certificates are awarded before the drive back to Moshi for a celebratory evening.
