Highlights
  • Materuni Waterfalls - Materuni Waterfall is the highest and most impressive waterfall at the foothill of Mt. Kilimanjaro with a height of about 150m. You’ll visit a coffee farm and learn about how coffee is grown, harvested and processed, and you’ll try your hand at roasting and preparing a fresh cup of coffee the Chagga way. After coffee tour and test you’ll take a beautiful 30 minutes hike through the hills and valleys en route to the Materuni. The valleys and hills are covered by tropical rainforest, coffee, banana and avocado “shambas”, the Kiswahili word for farms. On a clear day great views of Kibo and Moshi town can be seen during hiking. The hike to the base of the Waterfall can be demanding and hiking boots are recommended. Finally, you can refresh at the waterfall’s cold water, so don’t forget to bring your swim wear. Pickup from Arusha is also possible , kindly contact us

Exciting hike to a waterfall followed by some great coffee - The hike to the waterfall was easy and the coffee tour was amazing. I enjoyed the singing when we were grinding the coffee beans.

Highly recommended - My guide Gilly was very friendly and knowledgable. It was a great, chilled getaway from the urban area of Moshi, a leisurely hike with lots of flora and fauna to see. I particularly liked visiting the coffee farm - very interesting to see the artisanal process and the ways of life of the Chagga people
