Moshi to Lemosho gate to Big tree (Mti Mkubwa) camp
Mount Kilimanjaro - You will be transferred by road from Moshi (09:00am) to Lemosho gate. After registration you continue on the 4x4 track till the trail head where you begin your trek through the rain forest zone with your guide. The forest is thick and diverse with flora / fauna, and you may experience rain this afternoon which is common in this zone making the path slightly slippery. A short and winding path takes you steadily to the first camp.

Additional Information
This non-technical Kilimanjaro camping route is relatively new and one of the most popular routes currently chosen for ascending Kilimanjaro for its scenery, views and route profile. The route starts in the remote west Kilimanjaro area through the forest reserve and generally is much quieter due to it’s distant starting point. The route approaches the Kibo cone through the Shira Plateau and eventually joining the southern circuit passing the small ‘scrambling’ (using your hands and legs) section at the Barranco wall which truly gives you that mountain climbing feeling without any special equipment or experience.

Our guide will visit your pre climb lodge the day before your trek to do a briefing and coordinate the start time the next day. You can make your own way to our headquarters near Moshi town and you will see a Shah Tours board on the street with a black and green gate to enter our office.

Excellent Experience with a Fantastic Crew - We trekked the Lemosho route as a group of 5 friends and all mostly first-time climbers and so glad we chose Shah Tours.
From the on-set the team was very supportive and providing the right advise. The owner himself is hand on and was in constant touch with us whenever required to guide us through the planning process.
From our equipment to dietary requirements, they were mindful of every detail and exceeded our expectations. Meals prepared were exceptional, especially considering we were all vegetarians and some even Gluten Free!
I cannot find enough superlatives for the entire crew with a special shout out to Calvin Shayo (Lead Guide) and Kelvin Jr and Anania and the entire team. Be sure to request for them for your hike. This is an incredible team, extremely motivational with keen attention to detail and always going the extra mile.

Unforgettable experience climbing Kili thanks to the guides and wonderful staff at Shah Tours - Climbed Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho route 7 day expedition at the end of February/start of March and the experience was unforgettable. Challenging but very rewarding experience that wouldn't have been possible without the incredible team at Shah Tours. Our guides Calvin, Calvin and Joshua were incredible hosts and helped encourage and push our entire group of 7 to the top. All the porters were extremely friendly, helpful and hardworking and the food on the mountain was top notch. Behind the scenes staff made everything easy leading up to the trip and all the equipment we rented was in great condition and well suited for the trek. We had shopped around with other tour companies before landing on Shah and I'm so happy that they're who we chose to go with. My girlfriend and I couldn't imagine a better experience for climbing Kilimanjaro.

Indescribably good experience - I can only say good things about this company. We, 2 women, chose the 7-day Lemosho route. The crew was very good, we had a lot of fun. The food was very good and there was far too much choice. Fresh food was cooked every day and there was fruit three times a day. Thanks to the chef for the good leadership. The guards Hamza and Iddy were charming. They were always there for us and motivated us to keep going. Both are very caring and respond to our wishes and problems. Thanks to the guys for everything.
Thanks also to Alex, who infected us with his laughter every day, I have never seen such a super friendly and peaceful person.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro - We had an amazing time climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with Shah tours. Our tour guide John did a fantastic job making sure we got to the top safely. We made amazing memories on this trip and are so thankful for our Shah team for helping us get there. I would highly recommend Shah for getting you to Uhuru Peak!

8 day Lemosho tour to Kilimanjaro - We decided on the 8-day tour with Shah Tours.
We had never been on such a crazy tour before and were very nervous. The tour guide Calvin, however, took away all our excitement and treated us like his family! The assistant David was also just great, the two of them together were super good and we had a lot of fun and a great experience! The two of them also took us to the top and we reached Uhuru Peak with them!
The chef Emanuel made super delicious food every day and all in a small tent.
We were very happy that we did it with Shah Tours and that we definitely had the best guides!
