Additional Information

Selous Game Reserve is recognized as Africa’s largest protected animal habitat. Its unique ecological significance led to its designation as a ‘World Heritage Site’ by the United Nations in 1981. As the continent’s paramount conservation area, it contains a diverse range of habitats such as lakes, open grassland, Acacia and Miombo woodlands, and riverine forests. This varied terrain support’s Tanzania’s most vital populations of Elephants, Buffaloes, and Wild Dogs. The reserve’s landscapes range from rolling savannah woodlands and grassland plains to rocky outcrops carved out by the Rufiji River and its subsidiaries. The allure of taking game drives along the perimeters of the lakes, river, and bushes elevates as the sun sets over the lakes, creating an indescribable magic.

Great wildlife - It was really fantastic. Despite the size of the park, we saw a lot of animals. The only exception is the rhinoceros, which isn't there. The river tour was also very impressive. Strenuous, but with lots of great pictures.

Amazing magical trip - Absolutely amazing experience. Booked a private tour and overnight stay in the camp. Best money I’ve ever spent. Worth every penny

Wonderful experience I will never forget - It was the most beautiful time - we had a very good guide-driver, we saw many animals (lions - a family of parents and three youngs and two male lions feeding on a hippo, giraffes, zebras, elephants, buffalos, hippos, antilopes, gnu, warthogs, monkeys, croocodiles, birds ...). There are amazing lanscapes in the park, not too many tourists and jeeps, I recommend it to everyone.

Nice place - You really have to look for the animals, this park is very large, "but" very wooded, it's not easy to see the animals hidden there, if I do it again I would rather go to a large plain like Serengenti
