Additional Information

Kinole is renowned as the central base of the Waluguru’s principal leader, Kingalu. Situated 48km away from the town of Morogoro at the base of the eastern side of the Uluguru mountains, this locale is a must-visit. A hiking trail from Morogoro to Kinole offers a fascinating glimpse into the past with a stop at the traditional Nyanyiko site. Here, the chief Kingalu used to pause during his journeys to the Nguru Mountain for worship in days of yore. If you plan to trek to Kinole, engaging a knowledgeable tour guide who is familiar with the route is strongly advised.

The Tegetero forest presents an opportunity to view unique species like the Uluguru Bush- shrikes, Allanblackia uluguruensis and saintpaulia species, each endemic to the Uluguru Mountains. For those who crave adventure, the 8-hour long Tegetero trail weaves you through the forest to the Tegetero Mission from Morogoro town. It also offers the rare spectacle of the Uluguru Bush-shirkers and the African violet (saintpaulia species.).
