An extremely enjoyable day - It was a truly unique experience to spend time in this beautiful rustic old farmhouse, a superb setting to eat an expertly cooked traditional Japanese lunch chatting to Japanese people about their culture and history and then be shown to another unique room and be absorbed by the exotic kimono fabrics. Friendly advice and guidance was given throughout the workshop to enable a finished picture to take home as a memory of my 12 weeks spent in Japen. I felt very lucky and privileged to have spent this relaxing time here.

Be creative and save the planet! A new way to re-use kimono - I’ve lived in Japan for almost 10 years and only recently found out about this amazing activity! I especially love it because it aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by repurposing beautiful kimonos with a new and fun art project! Other art lovers will really like this experience, too! Even if you’re not a great artist or are doing this for the first time, you don’t need to worry. If you can use a pair of scissors, you’re already a pro! The experienced instructor was so kind, encouraging, and helpful in every step of the crafting process. She also made suggestions about designs when I couldn’t decide what patterns or colors to use. The best thing about this activity is the freedom of creativity! There are currently six design templates to choose from and a huge selection of gorgeous fabrics to use. You really get the full cultural experience because the activity is held in a traditional Japanese house. There is a small restaurant connected to the house so you can also have a delicious bite to eat (which was included in my package)! Afterward, you’ll have an original and amazing souvenir to take home! I highly recommend trying this unique activity!! Finally, you can book this stress-free! My friend and I were welcomed at the train station and driven to the location.
