Mauricio is just the best!! - We did an early morning tour in Curi Cancha as well as a night tour in the Monteverde Wildlife Refuge with Mauricio. We travelled with our two young (energetic) young boys. Mauricio was amazing!! His mixture of his knowledge, love and respect of the local ecosystem as well as keen nature of sharing with others, is magic. Everytime he heard an “Oh my gosh!!” from one of my kids with something he scoped out for them to view - his face lit up and you can tell it was a symbiotic experience. Had we not done guided tours, we would have missed 95% of what Mauricio shared with us. Exceptionally professional, patient (esp with my kids) and genuinely vested in providing an individual and rewarding experience.

Elbert the hellbird - We had an incredible experience on our bird-watching tour with Elbert (Hellbird)! From start to finish, his enthusiasm and deep knowledge of the local wildlife made the trip both educational and exciting. He had a keen eye for spotting birds and made sure that everyone had a chance to see them clearly before any photos were taken, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Hellbird was not only incredibly helpful but also friendly and patient, answering all our questions with a smile. If you're looking for a fantastic bird-watching experience, this tour with Hellbird is a must! Highly recommend!

Highly recommend - We stayed at fabulous Las Marias Monteverde Garden and Mountain View cottages owned by the The Three Brothers . It was a basic but clean cabin with all the necessary amenities needed set in a lovely well maintained garden with 3 other cabins in a secure area just outside of Monteverde - Alexander was welcoming and knowledgeable. We took him up on his offer of organising a tour for us.! He was punctual and priced competitively with good English and was able to show us the wildlife we hoped to see - especially a Toucan right at the very end of our tour. Highly recommend the tours and their cabins!

Quetzals! - After joining a tour with Elbert to Monteverde, we had a tour booked in with him for the following day to Curi Cancha. We didn't think we could top seeing all the brilliant things in Monteverde after seeing the resplendent quetzal, but we ended up seeing a female quetzal also here, as well as another male, which felt really lucky! Thank you Elbert for your brilliant quetzal spotting skills!

A beautiful forest with walkable hiking trails - It was wonderful to have Eliar as our guide for just the two of us - we were able to learn from him and appreciated his wildlife spotting skills and use of his scope. The forest is lush with plenty of shade - we had a nice breeze too. Some of what we saw was terrific but giving it a 4-star rating due to overall limited wildlife encounters.

Great guide, but more people attended than the listing stated, significantly impacting the experience. - Our guide was excellent and found a lot of wildlife for us. He was super knowledgeable and had answers to every question we asked. However, my gripe is that the experience page said there would be a max of 7 guests which was a large reason why we chose this particular tour - on the day of our tour though, there were 9. While it was clear within a few moments of the tour starting that even 7 would be a lot on the tour given how much the animals move, 9 was downright unworkable. So many people missed several wildlife spottings because it was just too hard to get them all to the scope before the animal moved.

guide did not show up - Our guide didn't show up. We were on time, even 10 minutes earlier. Not much more to say really. There is no easy way to complain on the site or at least I did not found it.
