“Distracted by birds” in a good way 😄 super tour 10/10 ⭐️ - Our family went on an early morning birdwatching tour with Oscar & had a fantastic experience. Oscar was enthusiastic & extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our tour memorable.We saw so many birds, including the elusive Quetzal-mammals and insects that we never would have found on our own-the pictures Oscar took through the spotting scope and shared with us put the trip over the top. Highly recommend!

Even if you don’t like birds, Oscar will convince you. Image if you do like birds … - Had a Bird Watching tour with Oscar. Such a wonderful experience. Oscar is knowledgeable about the flying wildlife and does not rush. Patiently, he listens to nature and finds the birds he’s looking for. That made the quetzal not even the highpoint of this trip. So recommend!

Excellent Bird Tour with John in Monteverde, Costa Rica - John met us at our hotel promptly, he was very friendly and knowledgeable! He took my wife and I in his car, it turned out to be a private tour. We stopped nearby to find a number of birds to see and photograph! Inclded was a great bakery breakfast that had a back area bird feeder yielding birds and treats! Next we drove to a bird/wildlife sanctuary, Curi Cancha, where we saw Toucans, hummingbirds and more. Oscar an associate of John helped network finding birds - guides helping each other is a win win. John is so dedicated, he is kind and focused always on the lookout, and attentive to our interests and the pace that suits our abilities. We were able to see all that he pointed out! It was so enjoyable and we got quite few great pictures and learned a lot! We would highly recommend John to anyone for a guide in Monteverde! Scott and Senka

Beyond amazing - I did this tour with Johnny and it exceeded my expectations, we saw so many pretty birds! A Quetzal, Keel billed Toucans, Toucanets, Motmots, a Hawk feeding on its prey, a mother hummingbird feeding her babies in the nest and so many more birds and mammals (monkeys, coatis, squirrel). I can tell he is very passionate and knows the sounds and behaviour of the birds. I was so pleased that I ended up booking 3 other tours with Monteverde Wild, all of them with Oscar (the night tour and two nature tour in Monteverde) Oscar is beyond amazing. Very attentive to what I wanted to see and he did everything he could to meet my expectations. I wanted to see a male Resplendent Quetzal and we saw so many that I lost count of them ! including a male and female building their nest 😊. And so many more birds and animals including a beautiful Trogon, an impossible to find Phasm… Also Oscar has a great rig to fix your or his phone to the monocular and film everything through it. And he too is very knowledgeable and knows the sound of every bird and how to find them! And he was kind enough to tell me more about the conservation and the protection of this beautiful yet fragile cloud forest.

Excellent - We recently went on a private bird watching tour with Johnny in Monteverde. It was an amazing experience. Johnny picked us up on time and took us to two different locations. Johnny is very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable guide with a great ability to spot many different birds and show us. Some birds were high in the trees and Johnny used his telescope and point them out. He also took some great photos for us on our Iphones using his telescope. The tour also included a delicious breakfast in Stella Bakery. We saw sone colorful birds on a bird feeder there too. Johnny was super generous with his time and stayed a little longer than planned. Another guide Oscar was also helpful in locating birds. We were especially happy that we saw a couple of toucans. I would highly recommend Johnny and Oscar as well.

Best Guide in Monetverde - Oscar was an excellent, patient and knowledgeable guide for our mid January, early morning tour of the Curi-Cancha WR. After touring the cloud forest and doing a night tour with him this was by far our most enjoyable tour. His ‘phone through the spotting scope’ pics were awesome. We had our our long lenses and he insured we got good captures. His English was excellent and he had an enjoyable sense of humor. 6 Stars.

Great birding guide for Monteverde - Had a great birding experience with Oscar at Monteverde refuge I was running late but he was patient and waited for us and did not rush the rest of the trip which we appreciated. Birding in Monteverde - Oscar showed us many birds including the hard to find Quetzel. Not only can he recognize bird calls but he is also quick to see birds. He has outstanding optics especially compared to other guides and takes pictures of the sightings for you.
