Additional Information

Pici is the most renowned pasta dish from the Province of Siena. It’s a variety of pasta that’s handmade, thicker than regular spaghetti, and crafted through the process of rolling the dough and rubbing it using both hands - an action termed as “appiciare”. This rewarding and fun-filled experience will teach you how to not just make pici, but also tagliatelle and savory sauces for dressing, such as meat ragù, garlic sauce, or cacio e pepe. Culminating the culinary class, you will savor the main dishes, fittingly served with a glass of wine. As a complimentary gift, you’ll receive an apron from a true Tuscan Chef.

Farmhouse cooking experience. - We really enjoyed our cooking experience with Simonetta! It was fun cooking in an Italian farmhouse kitchen. At the end of class we dined on the patio eating the delicious meal we had prepared. We would highly recommend this pasta making experience!

Great cooking class - This was a highlight of our week in Tuscany. Daniel’s outgoing nature as host and chef created a fun atmosphere for our family of five adults, from the minute we pulled up after driving on gravel roads to get there. We learned a lot about tomatoes, sauces, garlic, pasta making, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as well as sharing it with the other previously unknown people in the class. The host’s two lovable Boxers and beautiful setting were a bonus. I’d do it again in a minute.

Pasta ❤️ - Fun small class with local cooks who shared their expertise in making 3 types of pasta. After the class we were able to enjoy a complete meal of all 3 dishes & a nice wine pairing. Setting was beautiful.

Good time, but strange ending - We went as a group of friends to a nearby farmhouse/agriturismo site for a lesson with Irene. We learned to make pici and ravioli as well as the sauce for the pici and filling for the ravioli. We had many questions, which she answered easily during the class as well as chatted with us. When it came time to cook the meal, we were dismissed to the dining room to await our dinner. As interested cooks we hung in the doorway of the kitchen and tried to ask more questions like how do you know when the thick Pici is done, as 7-9 mins is an estimate, but she didn’t really want to engage anymore. We asked a second time, as maybe she didn’t hear the question, but still no. We watched and gleaned what we could then sat down to eat a delicious, very large meal. This was a mostly good time, strange at the end though, why wouldn’t the cooking of the pasta be part of the lesson? And why didn’t she want to talk to us anymore? This was not the in home experience with Daniel that other reviewers raved about. It also did not include tiramisu which other reviews seemed to include. At the end of the day, I could make the pasta again at home, the main goal.
