The Rockland Bird Sanctuary houses various bird species, some are native to Jamaica, others have flown from different countries and chosen Jamaica as their habitat. Tucked away in the hills of the petite community called Anchovy, the sanctuary is roughly a 20-minute drive from Montego Bay city. Depending on the enthusiasm of the group, a tour might take anywhere from 45 minutes to more than an hour. It’s a treat for bird-enthusiasts as numerous birds will glide from the trees to the ground just to be fed by you.
Particularly captivating are the hummingbirds, Jamaica’s national bird. You will have the unique opportunity to feed them from a bottle while they perch on your outstretched finger. Afterwards, accompanied by a guide, you will stroll through the garden to observe various trees and herbs before the tour concludes.
Please note, admission fees are extra ($20 for each adult and $10 for each child aged 4-10)
