Highlights
  • Sam Sharpe Square - This tour takes you to downtown Montego Bay. Your first 10 minutes stop will be at Sam Sharp Square. This area got its name from a freed slave who carried the same name and who led one of the bloodiest uprising in Jamaica on Christmas day in the year 1831. In this area, there is a statue of Sam Sharp and other slaves who were severely punished in the year 1832 for the Christmas day uprising that took place. Feel free to exit the vehicle and browse around. There is also the “Cage” which was originally constructed from wood in the year 1806. However, it was later reconstructed from bricks. The cage was used as a holding area for runaway Slaves who were held there until they were sent back to their plantations. It was also used as a holding area for vagrants and rowdy seamen who would get drunk and was behaving disorderly.

Great tour of Montego Bay - Our guide, Dale, was great! Very friendly and very knowledgeable about Jamaica's history and day to day life. He encouraged us to ask questions and he happily answered. I loved that we learned so much about Jamaica's history and how the people live. Very informative.

So glad we went! - Melton was a fantastic guide. In addition to all the items listed s being on tour, he showed us an incredible number of fruit trees, and sometimes picked a sample for each of us. I had never eaten an almond right off the tree before--incredibly delicious. The only plea for a tip was by a very young (7 or 8?) girl who went to the neighborhood school funded solely by donations and the community. I have trouble walking so tour guide helped me during the one area where you walked up to the school. He was so supportive, knowledgeable, and personable. I highly recommend tour & Melton.

Great Tour and Great Tour Guide - You will want to request Junior for this tour. He is extremely friendly, professional and informative. After spending this short time with Junior, it felt as though he was family. He is a true class act and I would highly recommend him!

Fun, friendly, professional - Lindsey was our tour guide and he was great. There were 9 of us on the tour and we had plenty of room. We went shopping, we ate, and visited other of the beaten path places. We didn't have to worry about crowds or anything. We made it back to the drop off point with plenty of time.

Beautiful memories - The wonderful experience began the moment we were greeted at the port. Lindsey and his wife were gracious and hospitable. Our guide, Marlin, was super. He gave us a lot of information and had answers for all our questions. He went over and beyond our expectations!

Jamaican Heritage Tour - This trip was amazing! The company picked us up right outside the cruise ship terminal and away we went. Marlon, Lindsay and the whole team were amazing to work with before and during our tour. I highly recommend this company and will certainly use them again!

Get to know Jamaica - We booked the trip via Tripadvisor and were the only ones at that time so we had the guide for ourselves. He took the time to get to know us and tell about some history of Jamaica. First we went to a school in the mountains with a nice old church. Then we had an amazing visit to a bed&breakfast which was super nice, with an overwhelming view.

Good tour but would not repeat - History is Jamaica was interesting, I thought we were supposed to stop for shopping. Our guide very quickly stopped at our request it but did not seem to be part of the tour. He did not summarize the tour before we departed. He was very nice but was more focused on personal problems than entertaining us.
