Highlights
  • Montanejos - Montanejos is located in the interior of Valencian Community, about 1 hour and 15 minutes of driving from Valencia. We will start the tour with a coffee in a local bar. After that we will start hiking, first walking through the village and then heading down towards the Maimona river. After following the river for about 1.5 kilometers we will start the ascent.

Luckily, the ascent is quite short and it will take us to one of the attractions of Montanejos - la Cueva Negra. This is one of the biggest caves in Valencia, and we will get to explore it, as there is an easy path going through the cave. After visiting the cave we will continue hiking and soon get back down to Maimona river.

Here we will get to explore the impressive canyon made by the river. A short walk from the canyon and we will get to the main attraction - the swimming spot Fuente de los Baños. We will make a longer stop here to enjoy swimming in thermal waters and explore this wonderful natural spot.

A short walk back from Fuente de los Baños and we will be back in Montanejos. Here we will have a post-hike drink and return to Valencia.

Amazing as always - Dimitri is a fun and driven guide who comes highly recommended. I had a great time exploring the area with the rest of the group. Walking in such a calm and serene setting was a relief, and the view was stunning. The excursion concluded with a nice drink in a local bar.

Challanging Hike and Beautiful Thermal Springs Experience - Dimitri was an excellent guide on this challanging hike up to an amazing cave. Although the hike is listed as moderate I would plan for really good shoes since much of the hike is uphill and the trail is loose rocks. However, with that being said even causual hikers can handle it. The beautiful views and blue water really make for an experience you won't forget. Wrapping it up at the thermal springs is an amazing capper. The thermal springs are not warm so expect a cold dunk to refresh and cool off after the hike. Highly recommended.

A wonderful day in nature - The hike in Montanejos was great and a lot of fun. We climbed to the top of Morron de Campos and were able to enjoy a beautiful view there. The climb was actually steep and challenging in some places. Just as advertised. It was a lot of fun. And the weather was great too. The trip was excellently organized by Dmitry. I felt safe at all times, even on the difficult parts of the climb. So a perfect day in the mountains of Valencia. I'm already looking forward to the next trip with Valencia Mountain Enthusiasts!

Perfect hike - Montanejos is always surprising. Going with Valencia Mountain Enthusiasts and Dmitry is synonymous with success. We first had a coffee in the beautifull and small main square of the town where we all took the opportunity to introduce ourselves. The group was very good. People from all over the world and very friendly. Then we start our route with a very fun climb. At the beginning we visit and get into a huge cave. Once at the top we were able to enjoy wonderful views with the Arenoso reservoir at our feet in one side and Montanejos and his river in the other side. Then, we all had lunch together. We share some sweets after the meal. That was cool. The descent was very nice, much gentler and between trees and more vegetation. We even saw a couple of mountain goats up close. Impressive! Finally, we enjoyed a coffee (or beer...) together in the town square again. A wonderful day. Whenever I can I will repeat with Dmitry. It shows that he has done great planning and he is an expert hiker.

What a great trip! - Hiked with Valencia Mountain Enthusiasts yesterday in Montanejos and had such a great time! The route taken on this hike provided enough challenges to make it memorable but not so difficult where I ever felt in danger. Truly epic. Dmitry, our guide, shepherded the group along and was thoroughly professional and engaging. I met a number of new people that I now consider friends. The group ranged in age from the 20s to the 60s (me) and we all got along famously as we took in the incredible views. A must for anyone who wants to get out of the city and enjoy nature!

A day out of 10! - An essential excursion if you like to enjoy a unique natural environment and at the same time spend a day in an active and enjoyable way. Everything was very well organized. The only thing you have to worry about is enjoying the day. It is clear that Dmitry has a lot of experience and guides the group with great security and confidence. Totally recommended.

Wonderful and truly EPIC hike - We had walked the equivalent of 36 floors and 28,000 steps the day prior, so the word epic did not slow us down; however, it was very high and very exciting. GREAT DAY! I wish that the guide was a bit more communicative, but I think he was quite shy. An overview of the day, expectations, and hints on how not to slip, like turning the foot sideways and ifmoration about the region were all given by fellow travellers or prompted by all of us. STunning views!

Beautiful landscape, but a bit tense atmosphere - Unfortunately there were only two of us (young girls) with our guide (man) and it was a somewhat strange situation/atmosphere as no one spoke properly and the conversations ended relatively quickly.
