- Hampton Court Palace - We will meet at the main ticket office at Hampton Court Palace. (Tickets are included in the tour price). I will guide you inside the Tudor parts of the palace, including some Elizabethan aspects. (As this is a Tudor tour, and to allow time for our visit to Hever Castle, the baroque parts of the palace are not included in this visit).
- Hever Castle & Gardens - Explore rooms once occupied by the Boleyn family including, of course, Anne Boleyn. See some of Anneâs belongings and stroll around the beautiful gardens.

My name’s John Coupland. My profile and reviews demonstrate a record of providing private guided tours to numerous visitors at historical sites and castles in South East England. Some of the sites have included Hever Castle, Anne Bolyen’s ancestral home, and Leeds Castle, which was one of King Henry VIII’s residences and also where his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, stayed.

Ticket office, left of the main entrance. (A 10-minute walk from Hampton Court Station in the suburbs on London). This tour includes a car journey to Hever Castle, Kent, and then to Bromley South Station. Trains are frequent and covered by London zone 6 Oyster cards or travelcards. Please enquire.

Best private tour guide! - John is a rare gem! My husband and I took the “Private Tudor Day Tour to Hampton Court Palace and Hever Castle” in September 2023. I booked John after hearing him speak on a travel podcast- I had loved listening to him speak on the podcast and knew right away that I would enjoy learning from him in person as well. John is everything that you would want in a driver guide- professional but warm, full of information, easy to talk to, and intuitive on guest’s needs. There is no doubt that we would book John again on future trips to the UK!

Highlight of Our Trip - One of the reasons why I chose to visit England was to learn more about Tudor history. When I saw this tour offered by John England Tours, I immediately booked it, and I can definitely say that this was a highlight of the trip. John is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, easygoing, and accommodating. He knows many of the guides who work in the castles and made sure to introduce us to them, which made the experience that much more personable. Between John and the castle tour guides, I learned so much about this fascinating period in English history. He even captured the attention of my teenage daughter who also learned quite a bit! John is extremely easy to talk and between the car ride from Hampton Court to Hever, I also learned so much about the UK from our conversation. I wish we had had the time to do John's other tours but his will be the first we book when we return to England (hopefully soon!). Thank you again John for a memorable experience!

Wonderful experience - Our trip to to Hampton court palace and Hebert castle was greatly enhanced by having John as our guide. Besides his knowledge as a guide he was extremely personable he also helped us to get the right train to go back to our hotel I would recommend John to anyone taking this tour

Incredible! - John was an excellent tour guide for both Hampton Court and Hever! He was extremely knowledgeable and it was evident that he has a passion for what he does! Definitely recommend doing this tour of a lifetime, especially if you have a love of history!

100% Recommend - Our Tudor tour was absolutely amazing! As a Tudor lover myself I learned so much more than I already knew, and it was so great to see the sights with someone who know what they are doing. John was just wonderful and easy to talk with. He answered all our questions and made us feel so welcomed. I would 100% recommended this tour as a part of anyone’s trip to England, especially if you have any interest in English history or the Tudors whatsoever. Thank you John for the lovely day.

An Amazing Tour and Tour Guide! - This was an amazing tour. John is very knowledgeable about all things Tudor! We made this our Tudor day because we wanted to see Hampton Court and Hever Castle because ending our day we went and saw the musical SIX! We had an extremely great time and appreciate the time that John took with us! If you are looking for a great tour and an even better tour guide then John is your man! If we get back to England, we would love to experience another of John's tours! Thank you, John!!

Stop researching… BOOK THIS TOUR!!! - As a lover of all things Tudor, I spent hours researching must see sites for my recent trip to London. After reading 100’s of reviews on whether to visit “Hampton Court Palace vs Hever Castle” I determined I had to see BOTH of these sites. My dilemma remained on how to fit these into a single day. Queue the Full day Tudor Tour with John. I really can’t say enough about John. He is so great at communicating and a real pleasure to work with. He told us that he has done these tours for years and it reflects not only in his knowledge of the sites, but also transportation, timing, and any issues that may arise along the way. He went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of. I will not hesitate to book with him again and appreciate all he did to make sure we were happy customers.

A glorious day - Hampton Court Palace is truly beautiful and something not to be missed. Our tour guide John England was very informative and friendly, we never felt rushed. Heaver Castle was a jewel; extremely beautiful and a change of pace from all the other castles we had seen.
