Highlights

Our driver will collect you from your hotel or cruise ship where you will begin your approximately hour and a half journey to Finca La Melonera Winery. The drive will take you through some beautiful andalusian countryside.

The Ronda area has been known for its wines since Roman times and the tradition of winemaking continues. There are over 28 wineries in this area. Finca La Melonera is one of Ronda´s most fascinating wineries. This is an organic winery that revived the indigineous grapes that were wiped out by phylloexera plague in the late 19th century.

The winery is a contemporary building overlooking the beautiful countryside and the vineyards. The 2 hour tour of the Winery will begin with a walk through the vineyards where your guide will explain the task of recuperating the lost grape varieties and difference of growing conditions on the estate according to different altitudes and soil conditions.

Visitors will be given a tasting of white wines under a beautiful oak tree in the vineyard. From there the tour will continue and you will be taken to the barrel room where the wine making process will be explained. Finally your tour of the winery will end with a wine tasting accompanied by a selection of tapas.

The next part of the tour takes you to the city of Ronda where you will have approximately an hour to tour the city on your own. Ronda is one of the most beautiful and historic towns in Andalusia. Ronda is a mountain top city nestled on the dramatic El Tajo Gorge, which separates the old and new parts of the city. Ronda is one of Spain´s oldest towns dating back to Islamic times when it was an important cultural city. Hemingway described Ronda as the most romantic town in Spain. Cross the impressive Puente Nuevo bridge, Ronda´s most famous landmark, which straddles the deep Gorge and connects the Moorish part of Ronda with the modern part of the city.

Ronda is home of modern bullfighting so a visit to its famous bullring cannot be missed. The El Maestranza bullring is one of the oldest and most impressive in Spain. There is a museum and guided audio tour of the bullring.

After visiting Ronda, we will drive back to your hotel or cruise ship.

A great day - A great trip. The tour of the winery was great, and the driver gave us a really nice tour of the city. The driver also helped us find a great place for lunch that was a bit away from the touristy areas, so that was really great too. It was a great day trip and I'd highly recommend it.

Review from Canada - Thomas was driver for our private tour in Ronda. He picked us up directly from our hotel early to ensure we had enough time to make our scheduled winery visit. Winery was great- even in the off season. They showed up the vineyards and explained how they produced the wines we were having. Thomas was extremely knowledgeable and explained a lot of history about the region. This tour gave us enough time to see all the photo worthy sights without being rushed and had time at the end for a drink. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Day Trip/Tour - Our day with Thomas was exactly what we were hoping for! He picked us up (5 adults) at the Marriott Beach Resort in Marbella and drove us to the most beautiful Winery in Ronda. The Wine tour took about 2 hrs and included wine tasting & tapas at the end. Then, we drove to the outside of town to admire the beauty of the city looking up on the cliff. Thomas was able to hook us up with a lunch reservation with amazing views on the cliff (even though it was a Saturday ~ probably should have lined that up a bit earlier as the town was extremely busy). After lunch, we did a walking tour of Ronda. Then 8.5 hrs later, delivered us back to our hotel. Perfect day!

Beautiful day trip to a winery and Rhonda - We had a very relaxing and enjoyable day with Thomas who fetched us from our hotel and was so friendly and informative as he guided us up the mountains to the winery and to Rhonda. He took an off the beaten path to Rhonda which gave us a special view of the city as we entered. He also led us to an amazing restaurant with a balcony view for lunch. It was a very beautiful day. Thomas continued to give us travel tips for our upcoming plans to go to Gibraltar and Morocco, giving us suggestions for where to park and eat. Would highly recommend this excursion and company.

Best Private Tour you could ask for, first class service start to finish - Peter was fantastic. He picked us up from our hotel in Marbella (Amare Beach Hotel) promptly. Comfortable van, clean, stopped, at our request, for coffee on the way to Ronda, helpful with translating our order at the café, and kept an eye on us the whole time to make sure we were being taken care of. Very knowledgeable of the area, of Ronda and the winery. Once at the winery we were greeted by the guide, she was great, very knowledgeable about the area, history, the winery. Great private tour of the winery and the wine making process, followed by tapas and wine tasting. Trip to the city of Ronda was great, Peter provided helpful information, a map and some recommendations. He also made reservations for us at a Michelin Star Tapas restaurant, some of the best unique tapas on the trip. We could not have asked for a better experience from start to finish, and Peter is a great person to chat with along the way. I would go through Peter again for any tour in the area or surrounding area. First class service, and well worth going with a private tour.

Exceeded all expectations!! - Without a doubt, this is the best tour I have ever been on. Our guide, Thomas, was so friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We had the best day with him. We took a private tour of the winery, Bodega F Schatz, which included tastings of 6 organic wines + tapas. Thomas was so sweet and even carried the wine we purchased back to our van. After the wine tour, he took us on the true "locals" tour of Ronda. He walked with us around the town, showing us the different bridges and telling us all about the history of the town. We also stopped at other scenic viewpoints, the bullring and for café at a hotel rooftop that overlooked the bullring. Afterward, he took us for Tapas at El Lechuguita, which Thomas told us is where all of the locals go. He went above and beyond to help us pick tapas that we never would have picked on our own and everything was DELICIOUS! On the way back, he took a slightly different route down to the coast (with our permission) and showed us the Rock of Gibraltar from the distance at a beautiful overlook. It was incredible. My friend and I honestly had the best day ever and will definitely book with Thomas again the next time we are in Malaga.
