Couple in their sixties loved the experience!! - My husband and I loved visiting Caminito del Rey. It was one of our top ten all time favourite experiences! We rented a car and drove ourselves from Malaga. We are in our sixties and the hike was tiring but quite manageable. I’d recommend buying the tickets ahead of time and doing it without a guide as you can set your own pace. One word of caution, it can get very hot so be sure to bring plenty of water, wear sunscreen and a hat, and stop for breaks along the way. While it says “no backpacks” we were allowed to bring a small one to carry our water. The parking lot is a bit tricky to find if you use gps so better to follow the directions provided. We both highly recommend this experience!

Camino Del Rey looks far more daunting from distance. Enjoy, so much to see. If in doubt don't overthink it, just do it - Had a fantastic day, I booked through Viator. Pick up and drop off went smoothly. I was a little worried about heights but it was fine, I felt safe and secure on the walk. The height I felt was gradual so you become used to it without really noticing. Last bit a few steep steps to climb before going down to finish. Snack shacks at finish with refreshing local orange juice. Toilet break on route to start of walk and interesting explanation of countryside we were passing from our guides Louis and Esmeralda. Guides were great but I choose not stay with them all the way on walk as it is optional and I preferred to go at my own pace and stop to look at different things. Unfortunately I missed the fossil on the cliff towards the end. There are lots of buzzards overhead and spectacular views of cliffs, river, trees, flowers and butterflies. I found it incredible that there were fish living in sealed off areas on the cliff face! Bring some snacks and a drink. Weather was ideal, sunny but not too hot. Scenery was fantastic from start to finish. There were people of all ages on this trip and it is suitable for anyone who can walk and manage some steps. I met some lovely people on the trip and when I got to the finish and looked back at where I had been walking and saw others still walking it was hard to believe I had walked there. Really looks far scarier from a distance. I loved it 🙂

Magnificent, extraordinary - Mother nature is amazing - producing such extraordinary landscapes and also a human mastermind to create a pathway through this beautiful, but also very dangerous place!

Great tour - This is definitely an experience that is worth taking into consideration if you are in Malaga/Costa del Ray. The tour was well organised and the guides were great. Christian and Violeta were fantastic. Keen to share their knowledge and experiences, whilst taking the time to ensure that everyone was feeling safe and happy. And the photos are amazing!

Cool hike - Esmeralda was the most wonderful guide! Everything on the tour was repeated in English, German and Spanish, so it can be a bit much at times but is helpful for so many who don’t speak much English. We stopped for a bathroom break in a small white village however it proved unnecessary as the bathrooms at the start of the caminito trail were clean and modern and in working order. Those who took the unguided option were done an hour and a half (at least) prior to the guided tour. So we were able to get food and drink while we waited but it was hot and sunny and a bit tiresome to wait so long. Returned to Malaga around 5pm.
