Amazing Elephant Safari - Everything about this trip was excellent. Our guide, Kumara, was outstanding and extremely accommodating - if you can get him, I would. Communication before pick up was great, pick up was on time, and jeep was clean and comfortable. Based on the location of the herd, Kumara suggested to visit the Harulu Eco Park instead of Minneriya and we were not disappointed. It was about a 30 minute drive to the park and we were able to stop along the way to grab drinks and snacks. Once in the park, we saw a couple of elephants within minutes, but the real treat was a group of about 12-15 elephants including babies. Unlike some other guides, Kumara was very respectful and gave plenty of space and positioned us perfectly along their path so as we sat silently, elephants walked within a few meters of us. We capped the trip with some sunset photos at a large rock that gave an excellent view of the entire park - including elephants in the distance. We also saw a few elephants along the highway on the way home. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend it.

Incredible Safari with the Best Guide – Kumara! - We had an unforgettable safari experience, all thanks to our guide, Kumara. He’s hands down the best driver out there — knowledgeable, respectful, and deeply in tune with the wildlife. He predicted elephant movements with amazing accuracy, getting us to the right spots at the perfect times. Unlike other drivers who got too close and clearly disturbed the animals, Kumara kept a respectful distance, allowing us to observe the elephants peacefully in their natural habitat. His calm, patient approach made all the difference. Highly recommend requesting him for your safari!

Unique Safari with very experienced guide (Kumara) - We booked a safari in Minneriya National Park near Kumara (Boss) at very short notice the evening before for 4h at 7am including pick up at the hotel (in Habarana). It was then proposed the "Habarana Eco Park" because there are probably more animals there at the moment. Our driver was Kumara (driver). We would be picked up on time and communication with Kumara worked very well. There were drinks and binoculars and then it started straight away. We saw peacocks, a chameleon and a lot of elephants (about 20). Through his experience we were very often the first jeep on site and had such a perfect view of the animals. Kumara has also taken photos and was very helpful with any questions and also always to have a fun. The safari had several stops with the animals. At the end we drove to a viewpoint where there was a highstand from which we could overlook the whole park. We can highly recommend the safari and especially praise Kumara again for the wonderful safari and unique experiences.

Memorable experience to see so many elephants. - Our tour was to Hurulu Eco Park as that’s where the elephants were at the time. While entrance fee was less than what we paid for Minneriya, we had a full afternoon with plenty of time at the end for sunset overlook. We saw close to 50 elephants at different places, including a 3-day old baby being fully protected by its mother and other females. Our guide worked hard to get us good views and at one point found a spot where we were the only jeep that happened upon a couple elephants and could enjoy watching with only the natural sounds of the animals and birds. All in all, a memorable experience to see so many - from a large, tucked bull to the young new-born.

Amazing safari experience - The safari was amzing! Mehesh was a great guide and took us to the best places in the park. We saw lots of elephants and he was also trying to find spots were not too many other jeeps and tourists were. He was also looking out for the best spots to get a good photo and told us a lot about the elephants in the park. In the eveving he drove us to a little hill to see the sunset. Would defintely recommend booking a tour with him!

I booked a jeep safari... - I booked a jeep safari and had an overall enjoyable experience. The driver was very friendly, the jeep was comfortable, and we even got to see some elephants, which made the trip special. However, I’m not convinced that we were actually taken to Minneriya National Park as promised. The gate we entered had a different name, which I unfortunately don’t remember. I asked the driver, but his explanation wasn’t clear and left me a bit unsure. While I appreciated the service and the scenery, I wish there had been more clarity about the destination. It felt like we might’ve been taken to a cheaper, smaller substitute park.
