The Tale to Tell

Gazing up at imposing skyscrapers of steel and glass, one might feel incredibly insignificant. Illustrate this emotion in your photographs, contrasting minuscule human figures with unforgiving and mechanical buildings. Emphasize the difference between the man-made and natural elements—subtle traces of nature and humanity in the midst of Tokyo’s busy cityscape.

Our Shoot Focus

We’ll focus on capturing powerful images of architectural features and the individuals that inhabit the city’s urban sprawl. You’ll learn how to utilize principles of composition such as leading lines, negative space, and contrast. We’ll put these methods into practice to portray a range of stories.

Our Exploration Route

Our photographic adventure will start in Shiodome—a neighborhood encased in glass and steel high-rises. From there, we’ll proceed to Ginza, famous for its wide streets filled with unique samples of forward-thinking architecture. Lastly, we’ll land in Yurakucho where we’ll delve into the depths of the mammoth Tokyo International Forum.

Best photography experience - By far, the best experience I’ve ever had in Tokyo. Will take a trip down to Tokyo again just for the photo walks and workshops.

Tokyo night photoshoot - I did the Cyberpunk tour with professional photographer, Lukasz Palka. I learned a ton from Lukasz, especially about street photography since I do much more landscape. Lukasz was an exceptional teacher, had a large number of great locations we visited, and was an excellent tour guide. When I return to Japan I will definitely book another adventure with Lukasz and EYExplore.

Fun Photo Roaming in Tokyo - I had a most delightful time with Charles wandering in Tokyo from Temples to Parks to Underpasses to Vending Machines, expanding my practical knowledge of my camera and being introduced to Tokyo. We ended at the top of the Yebisu Tower (38th floor) photographing the sun setting behind Mount Fuji. Perfect! I am looking forward to another Tokyo photo safari when I return!

Tokyo photo tour - Was picked up from my Hotel by Lukasz. Spent a fantastic few hours exploring some amazing locations. Lukasz is very friendly and helpful and great to spend time with. I got some excellent photos especially at Tokyo international forum building. We also did some street photography between locations. Looking down on Tokyo station and the Shinkansen arrivals was another highlight. If you have an interest in photography at any level I highly recommend this tour.

A must do! - Did the metropolis photography tour with Charles, fantastic tour, with Charles being very accomodating of my amateur photography skills. We went to areas that were quiet which was good as we wouldn’t get in the way of the crowds. He even took me to Akihabara afterwards and showed me a discount memory card shop. Talk about going above and beyond

Awesome photography tour! - I was lucky enough to be the only person on a 'group tour', so ended up having a private tour with Charles. He took me to some great places and taught me some cool ways of looking at the city differently to get some interesting shots. I did this on the first day of a 2 week trip in Japan so I could practice what I learned during the rest of the trio, which worked well for me. I Highly recommend this to anyone with an interest in photography!

Charles is a master - Amazing way to spend a morning in Tokyo, away from the crowds. Charles is very engaging, and knows his s*&t as a photographer ... it's great showing these shots to friends and family back home as though you composed them yourself. Charles is also great at teaching complete newbies photography basics. My wife took great shots as well, even though she hardly ever ventures beyond the iPhone camera.
