Highlights
  • Old Shimbashi Station - Shimbashi Station (新橋駅, Shinbashi-eki) is a major interchange railway station in Tokyo’s Minato Ward, located centrally and a 10-minute walk from the Ginza shopping district, directly south of Tokyo station.
  • SL Square - The so-called SL Square was created in 1972 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Japan’s railway transport system. The district served as the starting point of the railway going from Tokyo to Yokohama, established in October 1872. At the time, Shimbashi Station was named Karasumori while what is now known as Shiodome Station was called Shimbashi.
  • Karasumori Shrine - Dive into one of oldest shrines that only visited by locales
  • New Shimbashi Building - .The Shimbashi Ekimae Building was originally a bar district called “Tanuki (raccoon dog) Alley.” An urban restructuring project to create this building was carried out following the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, and construction was completed in 1966. There are shops from the basement to the second floor, and offices from the third to the ninth floor.
  • Shiodome City Center - The NTV Plaza is the area in front of the NTV Tower in Shiodome. The tower houses the main studios and offices of NTV—one of Japan’s largest television broadcasters. Unless you are a Japanese TV fanatic, the building itself isn’t of much interest.

Custom Tour for a Solo Traveler - I enjoyed exploring parts of Tokyo with my tour guide and photographer, Akira. We enjoyed local, popular dishes and took a detour when I mentioned classical music where we went to a special classical music cafe. Professional service and personalized experience.

Fun Tour in Shimbashi - We had a wonderful time with Naoto. He really knows his way around Shimbashi and Ginza. He spent a lot of time with us showing us several sites in addition to stopping at several tasty food venues.

Astonishing! - Thank you to @washoku_club_food_tours for bridging the gap for those who have never tried sushi before to make it an easy and fun process, by including cooked versions of sushi (usually it’s always raw!) and of course for having halal options. Today we learnt how ‘sacred’ sushi 🍣 is as an experience. It’s not just a meal, it’s an aspect of the lifestyle. First you wash your hands with a cloth handed by the chef 👨‍🍳 (in the previous upload) then you eat ginger to clean your mouth 👄 and drink green tea 🍵 which the restaurant usually grows itself!! So every restaurant’s green tea is unique & different. Then you begin the sushi experience which was absolutely astonishing!
