- 125 N 1st Ave - Whitewater rafting for 2 hours down the North Santiam River. We meet in Mill City OR where you will be shuttled to Packsaddle Park to start your float.
A trio of Class III rapids and nice scenery make this Portland favorite one of the state’s most frequently paddled summertime rivers. When the flows are low on other rivers this one is still pumping.

Launching from Packsaddle Park on Highway 22, you’ll weave through rock formations while taking in the surrounding forest landscape. Beyond the Gates bridge, prepare yourself for the most exhilarating section of the river.
Negotiating Spencer’s Hole, rated Class III+, involves tackling a hollow by steering a middle-to-right course into the rapid. Just beyond this, an island appears followed by Carnivore’s dramatic leap from left to right, another Class III challenge. The journey concludes with Mill City Falls (Class III), a substantial plunge after the Mill City Bridge.
Kayakers should park and prepare for their ending point at Mill City Bridge. Rafters, however, should wrap up their journey a mile further down at the boat ramp of Fishermen’s Bend Recreation Site.
The stretch from Fishmen’s Bend to North Santiam Park is rather idyllic, featuring slightly easier Class II/III rapids.
