2 hours spare in Milan - Just entering the library was like a scene from beauty and the beast, such a lovely building house fantastic pieces of art and history

You MUST see it - There are a lot of masterpieces on 1m2. You Just can wander all this thing and old italian masters. Good collection, you must see it.

Eclectic and inspiring - Remarkable collection in architecturally interesting buildings. Beautifully lighted. The Rafael cartoon is marvelous. Wish more information was in English.

Peaceful gem, do not miss - Quite near to the main square but hidden away. Arrived for 1000 opening and no queue so peaceful tour. Really interesting mix of internal architecture, superb art collection, sculptures and other items including Da Vinci's codex display. Highly recommended. Took the crypt tour as well worth a look. Several cafes nearby for coffee and reflection after.

The building alone is worth a visit - Good overview of the centuries, but many paintings and sculptures related to the Christian church.
Leonardo da Vinci is of course a highlight. But you can only find these interesting things in the basement in the old library.
Overall, the building is worth seeing, the courtyard is impressive from different heights even in bad weather.
Small tip: in general, the crowds are not that bad. You don't necessarily have to buy the tickets online in advance and can easily save €2-3 per person.

Art gallery and Leonardo - Art gallery not to be missed with works by Luini, Leonardo (the musician), large room dedicated to Raphael. Famous for the library where Leonardo's writings and the Atlantic codex are preserved. The historic building is beautiful.

There's a painting by Leonardo and no one even looks at it. Pure madness. - It's a beautiful art gallery.
Absolute masterpieces of both painting and Wunderkammer - chamber of wonders. Absolutely worth visiting. It would be six stars. Not forgetting that the building itself is also beautiful. So I'm not talking about the wonders that exist. Other commentators have already done so.
But... some of the wonders or curiosities that will also be there somewhere are not reported or highlighted. Napoleon's gloves for example. maybe I saw them, but I didn't notice, the plate with the description was nowhere to be found. Not to mention the other tags: the lighting of the paintings was beautiful but the tags remained in the dark and almost illegible.
I noticed two huge oriental vases, I thought they were Chinese but I have now read on Wikipedia that they are Japanese. Maybe a report would be good.
And we end with Leonardo: at the end of the tour in a room, together with other stuff, there is a masterpiece by Leonardo: the musician. Alone it would be worth an intercontinental trip to Milan. Not highlighted, the nameplate is almost illegible, and many visitors pass by with a distracted glance. I had to say to some: "Look, there's a Leonardo!".
Perhaps for the first time I also saw pages of the Atlantic Codex, also by Leonardo. I understand the inestimable economic and scientific value, but they are scribbles comparable to hieroglyphics. There is nothing beautiful or exciting about them.
Using the excuse that Hayez's Kiss was on loan, it's definitely worth going back to.
P.S: the bathrooms are perfectly fine.

Can be done in limited time - Be sure to explore the website to plan your visit (you may want to review and/or print a map before your visit). The website has suggestions for visits of several different durations. Seeing da Vinci's codex was really interesting, and the display of Raphael's preliminary drawing and explanation of techniques was fascinating. You can certainly spend a long time here, but can also squeeze it in on a shorter schedule if necessary.
