Knowing how to taste a wine and recognize its qualities is a skill that can be learned with a lot of experience, even after a certain type of training course, but it is enough to know the methodology of sensory analysis to get started.
We will learn together the basics to be able to decipher a wine thanks to our five senses and the tasting technique. Tasting a wine means subjecting it to a series of sensory analyzes in order to define its organoleptic characteristics. A professional tasting includes four exams:
- visual exam
- smell test
- taste test
- retro-olfactory examination
involving the eyes, nose, mouth and throat, touch and to a lesser extent hearing. We will learn the tasting technique by tasting 3 fine Italian wines.
Knowing how to taste a wine implies curiosity, knowledge and culture. We are talking about a mental attitude, of drinking without feeling thirsty, in small sips and slowly, for the pure pleasure of getting to know a wine and enjoying it.
