The final village before entering the vast Moroccan desert: From M’Hamid El Ghizlane, experience the rhythm of the camel’s steps as you explore the Palm Grove of M’Hamid, the oases, and the sand dunes of the Drâa Valley. Spend a few hours enjoying a peaceful moment in a friendly camel caravan on roads with minimal traffic. Depart in the morning from M’Hamid with a guide and camel driver heading towards the Bertham region (a former nomadic encampment area in spring). Enjoy lunch in the shade of tamarisks. After lunch and a traditional nomadic tea, the caravan will proceed to Oued Naam Place, where the camp will be set up for the night. -
Erg Lihoudi Dunes & Bivouac - Oued Naam - L’Outide
Following breakfast, the caravan will set off for L’Outide (an old route for caravanners to the vast Sahara) through the Hamada Draa. After lunch and a short walk, the camp will be established before sunset. Witness the preparation of the traditional “sand loaf” for dinner, and enjoy an evening enlivened by nomadic songs around the fire while sipping tea. -
Erg Lihoudi Standard Desert Camp - L’Outide - D’ouib back to M’Hamid
In the morning, depart towards the oasis of M’Hamid, passing through the dunes of D’ouib. Lunch will be served at the oasis of M’Hamid under the palm trees. Afterwards, visit the old Kasbah of M’Hamid (inhabited by the original population from the southern part of the great African Sahara) with insights into its history. Return to the village of M’Hamid.
