Additional Information

Above the Central High Atlas, in its most unreachable section, where not a single road can forge through, a collection of summits stands prominent, each nearing 4000 meters in height: among them are M’Goun (4068 m) and Ouaougoulzat (3770 m).
Beneath these towering peaks lie the Berber valleys of Ait Bougmez, Ait Bowli, and Imerhane. Isolated by snowfall and challenging routes for much of the year, these valleys serve as pockets of flourishing life amidst the severe mountainous terrain that surrounds them endlessly. The inhabitants, skilled artisans in their own right, have constructed the most picturesque villages within the Atlas. Here in the cooler mountain climate, away from the scorching plains below, this trek offers an encounter with a mountainous community that time has seemingly overlooked, in breathtaking surroundings. The ascent of M’Goun followed by the descent into Tassaout, an immense gorge carved by the river at the edge of the M’Goun range, is part of the experience.
Expect to hike for 5 to 7 hours daily, with an elevation gain that does not exceed 1000 meters.
