First rate trip! - The history of this area was wonderful and walking in the garden with cacti and flowers was unexpectedly a treat. Great guide!

Perfect day at Teotihuacan and Tula - Our driver Alberto and our guild Hector were wonderful . Everything on our tour ran smoothly and on time. Hector is such a friendly and incredibly informative guild . I’ve been dreaming of getting to see Teotihuacan and Tula for years and couldn’t have asked for a better experience at these amazing sights .

Good small group tour - I went in the company of my mother; very good experience, we liked the dynamics of our guide Hector, he has reference images that helped a lot to understand and imagine what Teotihuacán and Tula are believed to be like. We also thank our driver Alberto, who was leading us on the right path. We loved the 3 points, Teotihuacán, Tula and Tepotzotlán.

Muchos Gracias to our guide Cristian - My wife and I greatly enjoyed our April 15'th trip, which was a 12 hour and a 265 km round trip in an air-conditioned van. Thank you to our driver Carlos for negotiating the highways around this triangular loop route. Our day was hot and hazy ... this didn't stop us from climbing many steps up and down the archeological sites that we visited. Thank you Cristian for your excellent help and your knowledge of pre -Hispanic/ pre Columbian Mexican history 🇲🇽🙂 and of Mexican history since then. Geoff Chiddell, April 16, 2024

Great Experience! - The trip was amazing and very enjoyable if a bit rushed. Our guide Alexa could not have been more informative and helpful. She was able to provide historical context to each location in both English and Spanish. The first stop was Teotihuacan. What more is there to say about this magical place? It's a true wonder of the world, and never fails to impress. We got there fairly early and were able to dodge all the giant incoming crowds. Next was a visit to a mezcal "tasting tour" (you get 3 samples) and obsidian workshop, which honestly felt more like a long sales pitch. This was the one part of the trip I could have done without. Next, we went to a fairly-priced and incredibly tasty restaurant for lunch. Tula was another amazing historical site. It's not as impressive as Teotihuacan but it's underrated and well worth visiting. You can actual climb this pyramid! The last stop was Tepotzotlan. The town is incredibly charming and beautiful but I wish we had more time to walk around. The famous church was closed on Monday so we couldn't go inside. We only spent a few minutes walking around the town square and then quickly grab lunch. All in all, it didn't seem worth traveling the long distance to only spend an hour and a half there. If I could revise the itinerary, I would eliminate the workshop and give the additional time to Tepoztlan. Nonetheless, Alexa was great as well as our driver Fernando. Would definitely recommend. Bring some good walking shoes!!

Bad allocation of time - The pyramids and Tula ruins were extraordinary but we did not have enough time at each, instead the tour was filled with fluff like a tequila tasting and visit to a random town.

Unreliable agency - The tour was cancelled a day before for unclear reasons. The tour was supposed to be to Teotihuacan and Tula and the agency stated the trip was cancelled for reasons beyond their control. They tried to sell me a supposed “upgrade” to go to Teotihuacan and the Basilica of Our Lady Guadalupe instead. In fact, this not an upgrade from what I had paid for; it’s a downgrade, as the Basilica is a quick stop on the same way back to Mexico City. I didn’t fall for it, and went for a refund instead. I suspect they cancelled the tour because not enough people had signed up and kept things purposefully vague: “reasons out of our control.” I wouldn’t book anything with this company again.

Amigo Tours is an Unethical Company -- Beware! - I had to wait many years before I could travel to Tula. I booked a trip many months ago with “Amigo Tours” through Viator (trip title "Teotihuacan Early Access & Tula Small Group Guided Tour"). Then a short while before the trip Amigo Tours I got an e-mail from the, saying that they cancelled it, and I had to contact Viator to tell Viator that I wanted to cancel. That seemed strange. When an operator cancels, it is them that is supposed to contact Viator – unless they do not want Viator to know that they cancelled the trip. I verified this with Viator. I suspect that they did not have the number of people that they wanted booked for the trip. They called it a "force majeure" reason in their unfortunate note to me. When I asked for more details, they did not provide any. I’m sure if they read this post on this site, they will try to put some reason to make it not look like they are the unethical company that they certainly appear to be. Now, you would assume I would have received my refund. But no, they did not do what they should have with Viator. I had to call Viator to get my refund. Viator customer service was great – I only wish Amigo Tours had a shred of the professionalism, courtesy, and ethical standing that Viator does. For the sake of your own happy travels, be very careful before booking any trip with Amigo Tours. By the way, due to their unethical behavior, I will now never get to Tula in my lifetime. Thanks for destroying something for which I had waited for years, Amigo Tours.

Tripadvice-Viator-Friend tours... chain of NEGOTIATORS with other people's money. - Unfortunate! We come from Bs As to Mexico. My husband turns 70, we pay for this tour via Tripadvice-Viator-Friend tours... chain of NEGOTIATORS with other people's money. Expensive trip for us, tour that we can hardly do later, they have our money since January, almost U$200. And they write to me by whatsapp: 'Unfortunately we will not be able to perform the "Teotihuacan & TulaTour Guided" on March 17 as planned for reasons beyond Amigo Tours so we offer the following alternative: -Take the "Teotihuacan & Basilica of Guadalupe Tour" on March 17. If this alternative is not of interest to you or fits your schedule please inform your agency directly so that they can proceed with your cancellation. We remain attentive to your decision and apologize for the inconvenience caused. Cheers. Camila Vega. Amigo Tours You can contact trip advisor directly to proceed with your cancellation.' They offer me something minor that does not try me!! And otherwise I have to CANCEL. This is extortionate. It's not done! They have my money and I can't take the tour with another agency. The return is 3 to 5 business days and if it does not go well I have to deal with the bank. They're all on notice.
