The Museo del Templo Mayor in Mexico City is a site brimming with remnants from the ancient Templo Mayor of Tenochtitlan, housing a collection of approximately 7,000 artifacts. The museum was established to showcase these relics and enhance the visitor experience at the Archaeological Zone. With 8 exhibition rooms, the southern sections are devoted to Huitzilopochtli, the Sun God of War, while the northern areas honor Tlaloc, the Deity of Rain.
The Temple and the Greater Temple Enclosure served as the heart of Mexica religious activities as well as representatives of Aztec victories against their foes. Each temple is dedicated to a distinct deity, and a stroll through their corridors reveals more about the history and culture of the Aztec civilization.
