Most amazing tour ever! - This was the most amazing experience but what made it the best was the most incredible tour guide, Esly! I highly recommend this tour to anyone and highly recommend Esly. She is incredibly knowledgeable about Mexico City, the culture and history, and most of all is extremely kind and caring for all of her guests. Thank you Viator and Esly for an unforgettable time in CDMX! We will be back :)

Must do excursion! - It was awesome! The boat rides were our favorite and the Frieda Kahlo museum was great. The boats were fun and relaxing, and a total must do if you are coming to Mexico City. Our tour guide was an engineering student at the local university and was great-very knowledgable and fun!

Jaime was the absolute best - Jaime was the absolute best. Knowledgeable, intelligent, professional, personal, well spoken and friendly. I could see him as being a good friend if we lived there.

Unforgettable CDMX Adventure - Thanks to Esly! - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I took this tour with my partner and a friend, all visiting CDMX for the weekend - our private city tour with Esly was absolutely phenomenal — truly one of the highlights of our entire trip!
From the moment Esly picked us up at our hotel, we knew we were in great hands. She was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s rich history and culture, but also warm, funny, and so much fun to spend the day with. It felt less like a formal tour and more like being shown around by a friend who knows all the hidden gems and insider stories.
Our first stop was the beautiful Frida Kahlo Museum, and on the way, Esly drove us past Diego Rivera’s house, which wasn't even part of the tour, but made for a more complete experience, given all the history she told us. After Casa Azul we soaked up the colorful energy of the Coyoacán markets — all while Esly shared incredible background and little-known facts that made each stop come alive in a way that just wouldn’t have been possible on our own. She also helped us navigate which vendor we should order food from - some delicious aqua chile and ceviche.
And the Xochimilco boat ride? Absolutely unforgettable! Esly made it extra special, making sure we had a boat, all the drinks we wanted, and communicating with the boat guide so we could stop at a couple cool spots along the way, including a local fermented agave tasting - we enjoyed the music, and took in the atmosphere without feeling overly touristy.
We cannot recommend this experience enough. If you want to see CDMX through the eyes of a true local, gain deep insight into its art, culture, and traditions, and have an amazing time doing it — book this tour and ask for Esly. She made our day so memorable, and we can’t wait to come back and explore even more with her!

Xochimilco & Coyoacán- Worth the visit. - Our tour with Stepping Mexico was terrific. The transportation (private large van) wax comfortable, driver was professional and drove safely. Our guide (Jaime) was knowledgeable and friendly. Everything went as scheduled. Most importantly, the sites we visited were wonderful. We recommend getting to Xochimilco early (we did). It’s less crowded then.

The activities were... - The activities were great, especially the boat tour and the Frieda Kahlo house. Our guide was friendly and accommodating of our young children, however it also felt like he was doing the minimum. He answered questions and helped us find a restaurant, but otherwise he was mostly on his phone. While having younger children meant we had to spend time on that other guides we’ve had have tried to engage with the kids and get them interested or at least give us more information when there are opportunities.
Overall not bad but not amazing either.

Esley great! The company, meh. - First of all, Esley was a great guide. If I could just rate her this would be a 5 star review. She is a lovely person, has great energy and is very knowledgeable about the history of Mexico. Through her we met lots of local people/vendors and had great interactions with them.
Communication: The communication with the company wasn’t great in the days leading up to the tour. After a few interactions via Tripadvisor messages, suddenly they stopped responding. Finally I called them through WhatsApp on the morning of the tour and we were in touch. They were trying to call my cellphone which was not receiving calls outside of my home country.
Transportation: They sent a compact car for 4 adults. It was not a comfortable ride with 3 sweaty people in the back seat.
Tours: Xochimilco was really cool to see. We went in the morning, which was very quiet apparently, compared to evening when it’s more of a party atmosphere. It was the most “touristy” thing we did but still enjoyed it. Be prepared to be approached by sellers. We never felt uncomfortable.
The Frida Kahlo museum was great. We spent 1-2 hours there. We were very surprised to find out that the company did not supply Esley with a ticket. There is a lot of information in spanish and English in the museum but we all wished she would have been there.

Worst Tour Ever - The guide didn’t show up for our tour. The driver did but he didn’t speak English. I reached out to the tour operator but they never responded.
We travel a lot and this has never happened to us. Viator responded right away and refunded our money, but we can’t make up for the this one day of four we lost on our trip to Mexico City.
Make sure u stay away from this vendor!
