Highlights
 • First, we will take the Metro subway to reach the flower market. On the Day of the Dead, the market is filled with a variety of popular flowers used for adorning altars and gifts. These include marigolds, carnations, cempasuchils among others. The market ambiance is unique and vibrant, adorned with papel picado (cut paper decorations), families purchasing flowers and the regular assortment of fruits and vegetables. We will also enjoy an esquite, a local favourite corn snack.
 • Next, we will take the metro once more to the central plaza ‘Zócalo’, where the city has set up installations for the Day of the Dead.
 • From the central plaza, we will meander our way to take in the traditional display of altars put up by local residents and schools along a charming pedestrian walkway. We will pause for a beer and sampling of delicious tacos.
 • The final stop in our journey is Alameda Square and Palacio Bellas Artes. Did you know this is the oldest urban park on the continent? Here, we will enjoy the view, the architecture, the sounds, and observe the altars and people dressed in costumes. The atmosphere on this day in the city is both joyous and vibrant. Would you like to accompany us and try some freshly baked pan de muerto? From this point, you can continue the exploration on your own or you can choose to return to Condesa with me.

This is among the finest and most comprehensive tours in Mexico City.

 • Children must be accompanied by an adult
 • Comfortable walking shoes are recommended
 • We’re keeping the crew small and cozy – max 8 awesome folks on this tour!
 • We’ll be strolling and taking the subway. There might be a few stairs here and there, nothing too crazy. It can get pretty crowded and hectic, but trust me, it’s the quickest and safest way to get around. I’ve got your back!
 • We kick things off at 10 AM and wrap up around 3 PM.
 • Now, if you’re vegan, I gotta be honest—it’s not a perfect fit. Meat and veggies are gonna share the same cooking surfaces, and not every stop is a veggie haven. But hey, we’ll work it out and find some tasty options for you.
 • Don’t forget to bring your water bottle and check the weather report! – just in case!

awesome experience and guide - I booked Pata de Perro based on TripAdvisor reviews. I am glad I did. Communication and service was top notch. Santiago, our guide, made our trip. It felt more like being with a friend showing us his home town than being on a tour. He showed us the best of Mexico City and was able to take us to places in Mexico City we wouldn't have seen or learned about otherwise. He was fantastic. I would highly recommend Pata de Perro. Their services and guides are the best.

Fantastic Guide - We had a wonderful tour of the Historico Centro and beyond with Lala. She was an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable about architecture and history. Most importantly she shared many insights and stories that made Mexico City and her people come to life. Rarely have I learned so much and had so much fun at the same time. She was the best smart, irreverent and fun! I'd go on a tour with Lala anywhere she wanted to take us ( and I'm not generally a guided tour kind of person)

Fantastic tour! Recommend doing it on... -
Fantastic tour! Recommend doing it on your first day to get a lay of the city and the subway and possibly the food. Yaya is super smart and friendly, and the sights you visit are very well chosen a great mixture of insider info only a local would know, and more touristy everyone-should-know-and-see-this-place-when-visiting-MC. Just loved it.
