Excellent tour for a full-experience evening - With the number of tour options tied to Lucha Libre shows I am SO glad I decided on this one after much last-minute research. It meets earlier (5pm) than other ones despite the actual show not until 8:30pm but that factors in about 2 hours spent in Plaza Garibaldi home of all things mariachi.
Capacity was fitting at max 30 people, although my group that evening was 18. The tour is run bilingual which I found special. As one of only a handful of English-speakers that night, it was a fun experience to immerse within a group of Spanish-speaking attendees, and our guide (Adara) was fantastic with accommodating all of us, and flipping between languages. She was such a great soul, with a good spirit/energy about her...and I will always remember her kindness towards me as a solo traveler.
We kicked off the night walking to Plaza Garibaldi where we had our complimentary drink (choice of 2 shots or mixed cocktail, Cantarito) then decided whether we wanted to eat, drink more, explore...before our pickup to Arena Mexico for that Friday night show. The mariachi performances were wonderful- another highlight for me was seeing my group know of traditional mariachi songs when it came time to request.
The bus that transported us to the venue was more luxe than I expected! Comfortable transport and overall elevated the experience. Door-to-door service, while Adara hyped up the crowd by playing some music and telling us what to expect upon arrival. Things got a little hectic at entry, but we all had our tickets in hand from her, and she helped guide all of us to our seating area. Note these were 'nosebleed' seats in the very top level...but I was convinced that gave the most exciting vantage point in terms of soaking it all in.
From there, it was up to each of us how long we wanted to stay. And oh what entertainment this night provided. An experience I won't soon forget, and recommend to everyone.
Thank you Amigo Tours for rounding out my experience in Mexico City, and a special shout out to Adara, who was truly wonderful.

THE FUNNIEST TOUR!!! - Communication with the guide was very easy and we had no problem meeting her at the beginning of the tour, plus the detail of giving us a wrestler mask was very fun.
This experience was seriously fun, our guide from the first moment had a lot of energy and helped us to enjoy the visits we did more. He explained to us the importance of mariachi in the country and his emotion was very natural and with good reason. Listening to the melodies live in the square and seeing how many people gather to enjoy the show is very nice.
The fights are very entertaining and we never think that it is almost a therapy that de-stresses you due to the adrenaline you feel because the fight and the spectators catch you. There are even typical things that are done at the event and our guide was explaining why.
This tour has been one of my favorites, it was something very traditional and exciting.

Lucha libres - Loved our guide (whose name unfortunately I didn’t get!) who was very enthusiastic, gave us a tour of the streets that were on the way to the luchas and many shots of tequila! The fights were awesome, something I had never watxhed before but got me hooked immediately!

Ok but not a good value - We were two families. We had a good time and the wrestling was a really fun and interesting experience. Our guide Alicia was very nice and I would recommend her for any guided tour.
However this particular tour (we have done a few this week in México City) was pricey for what you get. We sat down at a cafe for a drink, then went to the wrestling. That's it. Also no food was provided and there were no good options to eat. It was nice to have transportation and the wrestling stadium can be a bit overwhelming with the crowd, but if you're just a little adventurous you can easily do it on your own. Bottom line, our guide was great but I would not recommend this particular tour.

Needs better time management - The tour guide is very nice. However, couple things didn’t go well. 1. We were asked to be at the meeting place at 4:45, but the guide didn’t show up until much later, I think 5:10 or later. 2. The music and drinks ended by 6pm, but our driver’s pickup time was 7pm, so we waited an hour idly just chatting and ordering more drinks of our own money. 3. We were told the show started at 7:30, but we waited an hour inside the stadium until the show started. It apparently starts at 8:30pm on Fridays, 4. The seats were very high up bad seats. If the seats were going to be so poor, it would have been helpful to have the option to pay more for seats on the lower levels. 5. We were told the show would last from an hour to an hour and a half. It ended up going over 2 hours and 10 minutes.
So overall, the event was 5pm-11:30pm by the time we were taken back to the hotel, when it could have been organized better.

Horrible experience...guide did not deliver and was unkind - Our pick up point was wrong, we were walked over a mile to a different pick up point which was then late, no sights were seen on the way to Arena and when we asked, were rudely told he wanted to explain his passion for Lucha Libra. He embarrased a man who fell asleep on the bus because he would not speak in English except for one minute and then go back to Spanish. A couple from England called an Uber to the Arena and left. We had to ask for masks and then as we are standing in the rain afterward (not his fault) he starting smoking which I disdain. Lastly we were left at a drop off point where we did not board in the middle of the night...for gosh sakes, we're in our 70's! This is crazy awful!
