Additional Information

Most visitors stay at the same tourist sites, but rarely get to experience real life as a local…so, we’ve designed a journey to Iztapalapa, an area that reflects the daily lives of 2 million people, that otherwise, you would never hear about.

This urban district is the largest in the city, full of culture, street food, traditions, and history that comes as far from the Aztecs.

What will we do?
The adventure starts Downtown, where we’ll take the subway towards the suburbs.
Then we’ll visit a local museum to learn the best facts about Iztapalapa, their traditions, and their history.
Then, the crown jewels: We’ll fly like birds in the largest cable car in the world for a stunning and colorful view of the street art and the immensity of the valley.
In between, we’ll visit a local market and an amazing airplane converted into a cultural venue.
We’ll come back home by metro, finishing with a pre-hispanic drink in a bar.

Don't Miss This - It's exhilarating to be 50-60 feet above theses wildly varying neighborhoods. Endless things to see but the murals and the view over the vastness on Mexico City are remarkable.

Walking Iztapalapa... - Walking Iztapalapa community and learning about the Utopia community was an enriching experience. The Cablebus is an inspiring work of community engagement.

Great time! - I had a great time. I really enjoyed seeing parts of Mexico City I never would have seen on my own. The views from the cable cars over the city were amazing. We had several interesting stops along the way. Our guide, Fernando, was friendly and very knowledgeable about Mexico’s history and modes of transportation. The tacos were delicious.

Beautiful but tacky operation - The pace walking much to fast for comfort and lunch unsanitary location, with last stop in middle of nowhere!!

Great tour, not so great guide - This was a beautiful and wonderful experience with murals and fantastic views but it could have been an even greater experience… First, realize you will be actively walking on this tour. The Mexicab (gondola ride) is only a portion of the excursion. I logged almost 9K steps! The tour guide kept a racing speed! Three of our five members could not keep up and he did not slow his pace, when they finally reached his waiting spot he continued on hurriedly never giving them a break. That was hard to watch. Likewise, his information, while very thorough indeed, was given in a loud and quick manner that felt assaulting at times, as if you were being yelled at. He used aggressive comments like “You’ll have to catch up.” … and huffed and sighed and was overall not what you’d expect in the tourism insudtry. When one woman asked a very intelligent question he responded, “ I’ve already explained…” 😳 When others asked questions he said repeatedly… “I will tell give you that information later in the tour.” He may as well have said… “Don’t ask. Shut up and keep listening….” I left before the end… it was almost finished. I skipped the beverage, having already had it before and glad to part company. I travel a lot and I’m wondering how in the world this company of two have high reviews. It was certainly the worst tour guide I’ve ever had but the tour itself (the murals and views- you’ll see the side of Mexico that isn’t a tourist trap, the volcanos, etc…) redeemed the day… otherwise I’d have rated this much lower.
