Best way to experience Teotihuacán - We did the Teotihuacán tour on Christmas Eve and it was the perfect time for it. There were only 4 of us on the tour so it felt like a private tour! We got picked up right on time from our hotel in Mexico City and dropped off at the office just outside Teotihuacán. Our tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. We were given little backpacks to keep and water for the day. We spent a couple of hours exploring the pyramids of the sun & moon and learning about the amazing history. Our tour guide answered all of our questions and shared so many fantastic facts and images with us. After our walking tour, we returned to the office to pick up our bikes and rode around the outside of the ruins, stopping at a cave (which we got to go inside of), had a mezcal/tequila tasting and looked at some local products. The bike ride itself is very easy - mostly flat, hardly any cars on the road. It’s a surreal experience to cycle through a small town in Mexico, enjoying the view. The day ended with a 3 course lunch - as well as a lovely surprise of cake for our birthday and a song from the mariachi band! Definitely a highlight of our time in Mexico City!

The highlight of our Mexico City trip! Thank you Eloy! - This was the highlight of our Mexico City trip! Eloy was an excellent tour guide who taught us so much, and we are so grateful that he was happy to answer all of our questions. We are a family of 4 with kids ages 10&12 with us, and Eloy was so nice to them too. We enjoyed the history of the pyramids, the stop with the vendor Juan, who showed us the natural pigment methods (we bought a little turtle flute from him), and we LOVED the cave tour. We were grateful for the hard hats as we did bump our heads a couple of times but were fine because of the helmets. We loved it! Especially our youngest, who loved exploring the smaller caves, too. Eloy was patient with our group; the other attendees wanted to take a little more time, and it was a lot of fun.! We enjoyed learning about the agave at the little shop. The drinks were good, and my daughter found a little woven backpack she was excited to buy. Lunch was a great way to try something new, and the servers were very nice and helpful (even understanding my wheat allergy [trigo]). The driver was nice and we felt safe. There was one back seat missing a seatbelt but luckily we only had 6 people in our group so we didn’t need the 7th seat. We were grateful to start early, it got very hot later in the day and the line to enter the pyramids area was very long, whereas ours was short and easy early in the morning. Thank you Eloy for such a wonderful day! I didn’t do my peso calculation right and wish I would have tipped you more. For other travelers, it can get hot so long pants were good, plus hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen. I wished I had brought a loose long sleeve open front shirt too to cover my arms more (they did include that in their instructions the day before, so my fault). I’d recommend an extra 1000-1500 pesos for a family depending on how much you want to shop and tip. All in all I HIGHLY recommend this tour! I wish we could book Eloy for more tours!

Guided tour in Teotihuacan - Everything was good organized and relaxed at the same time. I really liked the stories from our guide Ramon and the way he illustrated them with prepared pictures. He did nice photos of us and was patient for us moving around and making photos of the site. Very nice excursion! I’d only add a bit more time to walk around the site. So, thanks a lot for being flexible on the schedule and giving us an additional hour. That was really helpful to perceive better this majestic place!

Great Day - The tour included hotel pickup, which was on time. Tour with our guide Miguel. Bilingual. Adequate time to see the archeological sites and some fantastic ancient paintings. Optional bike ride or you can ride the van. Ride back to hotel included. Everything about pickup and the tour communicated the day before by email and whatsapp. Would recommend. We were pleased with our tour from door to door.

Small group tour with a personal touch - Highly recommend this tour! There were only 4 of us: myself, my husband and toddler- and a new friend we got to know on the tour. We were driven out in a private car and enjoyed talking with Angeles on the way. Jose Luis had an interesting mix of history and indigenous myths that I loved hearing about throughout the walking tour. We then got on bikes - they even had a toddler chair and tiny helmet for our daughter. We biked to caves and an artisan obsidian shop, with the tour culminating at a restaurant that we really enjoyed. Would I take a toddler on this again? Probably not. It’s a long day in the hot sun. I saw one other toddler at the pyramids and he was also scream-crying. Just a tough excursion for small children in general- no reflection on this tour company. They were patient and accommodating in every way. Oh - we also heard stellar reviews of the hot air balloon tour that this company runs…on our list for next time.

Mixed feelings - There were pros and cons to this tour. Firstly, our tour guide Eloy was highly knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful, detailed tour of Teotihuacán that we thoroughly enjoyed. This was absolutely the highlight and we were very happy with this. The bike tour afterwards was okay, however mostly cycled the perimeter of the ruins (with limited views) and the condition of our bikes averaged from good to okay. The time at the artisan market was quite long and touristy as expected, while we had to miss another temple due to time constraints. The included 3-course lunch was very substantial (with dietary options) but the restaurant had multiple rounds of performers who each asked for tips afterwards. There was no air conditioning on the return journey which was disappointing for the price paid. We already told visiting friends to skip the bike ride and choose another company for the price point. We’re still glad we visited Teotihuacán and had an excellent tour of the site itself, which we’re grateful for.

Well worth the time and the money. - Visiting the pyramids was astounding. The scale of the place is unbelievable. The driver and the guide were excellent and the trip to the obsidian workshop was great. Nice to shop with locals selling their own artworks. The cave is exceptional, showing the knowledge of archeoastronomy that the ancients possessed.

False advertising. - We were really excited about this tour, but were disappointed by the quality of the tour guide and the communication around drop off / pick up. The guide put the bare minimum effort into explaining this incredible site. We received an email communication confirming the details of our tour, including pick up location. We were charged for the tour, but then less than 24 hours before the tour we received phone call asking us to change our pick up location to a point 40 minutes away. This was a huge inconvenience, and resulted in adding a couple of expensive Uber rides. Buyer beware!
