Lucía can cook a wide variety of Mexican dishes, from traditional family recipes passed down through generations of home cooks, to modern dishes using fresh, local ingredients. Cook together with Lucía and learn some of her favorite cooking tips and techniques. Note that Lucía can offer both a hands-on cooking class or a cooking demonstration in which you will watch Lucía prepare the dishes. Please specify what you prefer at the time of booking.

Additional Information
During this experience, you will cook authentic Mexican dishes with your host Lucía in her spacious home kitchen and learn some of her favorite cooking tips and techniques! Lucía can cook a wide variety of Mexican dishes, from traditional family recipes passed down through generations of home cooks, to modern dishes using fresh, local ingredients.
Your menu will be based on the season and might include dishes like potato leek soup, albondigas en salsa de chile chipotle mecos (meatballs in a smoked chili sauce), sopa de nopalitos (cactus paddles in bean broth), fideo soup (Mexican noodle soup), traditional moles (savory meat dishes cooked in spice and chili sauce) and chile en nogada (stuffed poblano chilies, smothered in creamy walnut sauce).

Warm and welcoming host - Lucia is such a warm and wonderful person. She welcomed us into her home and it felt like cooking with an old friend. The dishes were delicious and we got to enjoy them in her beautiful garden. She is well traveled and very knowledgeable about Mexican cuisine. Highly recommend this cooking class!

Delicious food, led by a wonderful host. - Our host was charming, and her knowledge of the food of Mexico was fantastic. We cooked wonderful food, and enjoyed meeting Lucia, and eating our delicious lunch on her lovely terrace, surrounded by flowers and orange trees. Five star experience!

Highly recommend - My family had an amazing experience cooking mouthwatering Mexican dishes under masterful guidance of Lucia in her charming home. We shared stories, laughs, and amazing meal. I’m afraid quesadillas are forever ruined for me as I’m unlikely to find quesadillas that would taste as fantastic as the ones we made as a group. We received a lot of cooking tips that are easily transferable to home cooking. It was very nice seating outside on the patio having the meal that we all prepared. It was a lifetime memory for my family that we will cherish forever. Very grateful to have had this incredible cooking experience. Highly recommend.

The Best of Food, Culture & History! - Lucia shared food history and insights into culture of life in Mexico. She is an excellent cook and teacher. Her kitchen is a delight and the experience of being in her beautiful home and garden was magical. This is a must do experience!

Amazing! - Highly recommend this experience! We have taken cooking classes before in other areas and Lucia was wonderful. She was so welcoming and very knowledgeable about cooking and the history of Mexico City (education system, healthcare, ect). Amazing food and her home was incredible. You won’t be disappointed! Only note is use the address provided not the Google maps address as It takes you to a different location.

Memorable afternoon with Lucia - We had a memorable afternoon with Lucia! She was incredibly welcoming and generous with her knowledge. Lucia was accommodating with our requests for recipes to specific dishes. We really enjoyed cooking with her, and the meal was one of the tastiest meals we had in Mexico.

Cooking amazing food. Creating new friends. - An amazing experience, HIGHLY recommend!
Started with a welcome drink and then a short walk of the streets of beautiful San Angel to the local market, stopping the stalls to sample tortillas and seeing different types of produce we'd be using that day. More than just a food tour, it become a small sightseeing adventure being shared the history of Mexico, Mexican food, the community, and traditions.
We cooked Conchinita Pibil, making our own salsa in molcejetes, pressing our own sope (tortillas) and enjoying some Mexican wine as we did it. With amazing conversation and history along the way.
We ended it with a lunch in the garden of an amazing home, learning more about the cuisine, and laughing as though we were long-time friends enjoying a catch-up meal.
One recommendation: if experiencing in San Angel, come early (or stay late) and take some time to enjoy the town. It's beautiful.

Delicious and informative cooking class - A wonderful experience! This was a hands-on cooking class in Lucia’s beautiful home. We learned so much about Mexican food and the lunch was absolutely delicious. Our six year old loved it too! Highly recommended.
