As you were a bohemian, we will start the tour with a chocolate experience. Try firstly Bicerin, the traditional hot cup recipe consumed in these ‘800 century cafes.

We will move then to explore how local chocolatiers have worked cocoa for our happiness. Sampling a selection of traditional chocolates like Gianduiotto, Cremino, and Cri Cri and moving to premium dark versions made with Criollo. Talking about the global sourcing issues and challenges.

Turin has been developing as a community of citizens from all the regions of Italy, each one bringing over their own recipes and traditions.

From the closest seaside of the city near Cinque Terre sample the Focaccia Ligure from a family shop and experience how great olive oil plays together with a fluffy and tasty bake.

Chocolate, wine and good company - perfect for a rainy spring day in Turin - Irene was an excellent and wonderfully enthusiastic guide on our exploratory tour in search of Turin chocolate and Piedmontese wine! She has an incredibly broad gourmet knowledge and can really give interesting answers to any question (in perfect English). It is particularly nice to see how friendly the owners of the various bars and shops we visited are. You immediately feel welcome and even start talking to the people yourself, for example in the Domori chocolate shop where we learned about the advantages and also the responsibility of producing your own cocoa in Venezuela and about the special features of the rare Criollo cocoa bean. The warm nature of our guide and the local owners was also very infectious. So our group, made up of a wide variety of people of international backgrounds, became close friends in no time at all, while we tried Gianduiotti and Bicerini, munched on focaccia with lemonade and finally enjoyed a small aperitif with salumi and regional wines. Irene also told us about the history of the city and Piedmont (she is also an art historian!) and also a few personal anecdotes from the life of her Turin family. So if you want to learn something about the culinary delights and culture of Turin and feel like you belong there for a moment, then this tour is highly recommended. Grazie mille! Oh and last but not least: Irene speaks fluent German as well as English! :)

LOVELY EXPERIENCE IN THE CENTER OF TURIN - Well-structured activity in the center of Turin. Tasting of excellent, quality products in historic and particular locations. Prepared, welcoming guide with the ability not to rush during the tasting and the walk! Much appreciated 👍 We have been to some high end patisseries, with special chocolate. The tasting of local delicatessen at lunchtime was also fantastic. ADVISED

Unique opportunity to appreciate Turin through the eyes of a master guide - Turin is a stunningly beautiful city that holds many secrets in its palaces, plazas, galleries, its appreciation of local food and drink, its churches, its libraries, its art and collections. It takes a master guide to introduce visitors to a city with so many aspects. We had the good fortune to have found such a guide in Irene, who brought out different aspects of this wonderful city in a gentle and deeply knowledgable way. Irene had a way of steering the questions of a diverse group of five visitors, 3 from Geneva, and Monica and myself from London, around the centre of Turin; suggesting answers to our very different questions in a way which held attention, and encouraged dialogue, as one fabulous scene unfolded after another. Our group was in the hands of a master guide, who knows the city of Turin, and is willing and keen to reveal some of its secrets. Absolutely not to be missed.

Taste Turin in good company - It was a rainy and cool day so I was there alone. But no worries, it gives you a chance to really talk and ask questions from the tour guide. And she had all the answers! And we took our time with the different places. First get your sugar rush from bicerin and chocolates, then move on to the salty. Finally of course, wine.

Let's bicerin! - It was a rainy day and I was the only one there (it happens now and then) but tour guide was nice and knowledgeable so we could take our time and share stories about Turin and other Italian cities and just enjoy chocolate and salty goods and good company. Recommend!

AVERAGE - Much too expensive activity for what it is. We were expecting a visit around chocolate, its origins and perhaps some particularities without going in-depth from a historical point of view. We wanted a light and delicious experience, not a too detailed retelling of the story. I think the guide has a lot of knowledge and little interest in gastronomy. Overall it was but overpriced for 3 samples of chocolate and focaccia.
