Additional Information

Join our local guide as we embark on a culinary voyage through Piedmont. Explore historic stores and sample a variety of local dishes, all while cultivating a deeper understanding of the region’s unique history.

Experience Gianduiotto, a sweet tale suggests that this dessert came about because of Napoleon’s continental blockade in 1806, causing many confectioners to substitute a portion of the chocolate with hazelnuts.
Bicerin is a characteristic non-alcoholic beverage originating from Turin, its name translates to ‘glass’ in Piedmontese and it’s derived from an 18th-century drink called ‘bavareisa’.
Veal tonnato served with a glass of wine is not French as one might assume, but is actually quintessentially Italian, with ‘vitel tonnè’ being a term from the Piedmontese dialect.
With hundreds in existence, many earning the DOP and DOC labels, cheeses are an integral part of Piedmont’s gastronomic tradition.

Very nice - Our guide was very good at making us passionate about Piedmontese culinary tradition, and also explaining the history of the dishes we tasted. A great tour to discover places we would never have found on our own. Highly recommended.

Little food and no alcohol on this food tour - Guide was very knowledgeable of history in turin. BUT we booked a food tour to taste the foods in turin and little food and beverages offerred. Was a waste of money as far as a food tour goes
