From a distance, the Vesuvius seems to be harmless but when the brave tourist approaches near its crater, he feels the power of the “big Giant”. Departing from Pompeii, you will reach an altitude of 1000 meters, and from the parking area you will reach the crater following a trekking path that usually takes 30 minutes. Once there, enjoy the breathtaking view of the Bay of Naples.

The tour begins with a visit to the most fascinating landmarks of ancient Pompeii, including the thermal baths, the frescoes of the Lupanare, the Macellum, and the Basilica. Then, journey up Mt. Vesuvius and pause at a local restaurant situated in a scenic spot along the slopes to savor a traditional Italian lunch. The driver will take you to an altitude of 1000 meters, where you will hike to the volcano’s peak to view the crater. At the summit, a professional guide from the National Park will provide an insightful explanation. You will marvel at the summit of Mount Somma (1133 m) and, to the right, the cone of Vesuvius (1281 m), both divided by the Valley of the Giant. Mt. Vesuvius is both majestic and breathtaking!
