Additional Information
  • Your Journey begins with a meeting with your chauffeur, who will drive you to Pompeii.
  • Upon entering Pompeii via the Sea Gate with your authorized tour guide, you will get to experience the lifestyle, passion, work, fun, food, drink, and eventual end of the inhabitants of the most extensive empire the world has ever seen. Pompeii was engulfed in about 20 feet of volcanic ash and pumice due to the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79.
  • After Pompeii, the second half of your day will see you traveling south via the freeway to Mount Vesuvius, which happens to be the only active volcano in Europe.
  • The journey comprises driving up the winding roads of the volcanic flanks, soaking in the breathtaking views of the Neapolitan and Caserta plain till about 3,000 feet, where the drivable road ends.
  • Here, if you’re up for it, you could start walking over the slender paths that coil up the mountain for another 1,000 feet till you reach the crater’s peak. Walking along the crater’s edge will yield the most spectacular photos.
  • Post this demanding but fulfilling journey, you will return to the parking lot and be driven back to your hotel.
