- Castel Nuovo - Maschio Angioino - Continue to the city center and enjoy a scenic ride near Castel Nuovo, also known as Maschio Angioino Castle.
The ancient core of the castle, partially revealed through restoration and archaeological work, was initiated by Charles I of Anjou. After defeating the Swabians in 1266, he ascended the throne of Sicily and moved the capital from Palermo to Naples.
- Posillipo - Arrive at Posillipo Hill and take a moment to admire the stunning view of the Gulf of Naples from above! With Mount Vesuvius embracing the Mediterranean Sea, it’s the perfect spot for panoramic photos and selfies.
- Chiesa di Sant’Antonio a Posillipo - Founded in 1642, this church was built on a sparsely urbanized site consisting of four rural villages connected to the Mergellina area by an ancient Greco-Roman road.
The conventual friars of the third order established a church and a small convent that initially served as a sanatorium. The foundation stone reads:
«FRATER PAVLVS ANSELONVS FR 3 ORDINIS S.TI FRANCISCI FVUNDATOR OB MAGNAM DEVOTIONEM FAIRS FECIT YEAR DOMAINS MDCXXXXII»
The walls of the ancient chapel can now be found in the current sacristy, and the original convent’s premises are in the rooms known as the “ex-monastery.”
- Lungomare Caracciolo - Enjoy a scenic ride along one of the world’s most beautiful seafronts! Marinas, local restaurants, trendy clubs, luxury hotels, and the majestic Castel dell’Ovo, which overlooks what was once a small fishing village and is now the nightlife hub, Borgo Marinari.
- Castel dell’Ovo - The oldest castle in Naples, Castel dell’Ovo is a prominent feature in the famous panorama of the gulf. According to legend, its name comes from the Latin poet Virgil, who hid a magical egg in the castle’s dungeons. The egg was said to keep the fortress standing, and its breakage would cause the castle’s collapse and disastrous catastrophes in Naples.
- Piazza del Plebiscito - Return to the city center to admire Piazza del Plebiscito, the most important square in Naples and one of the largest in Europe.
Here, you can enjoy a splendid view of Santa Lucia and Via Parthenope (the end of the Caracciolo promenade) and see two of the city’s most impressive monuments:
- San Francesco di Paola’s Cathedral
- The Royal Palace
- Teatro di San Carlo - Known simply as Teatro San Carlo, this opera house in Naples is one of the most famous and prestigious in the world. Founded in 1737, it is among the oldest active opera houses in Europe and the world.
- Galleria Umberto I - The main entrance on Via San Carlo features an exedra façade with an architraved portico supported by travertine columns and two blind arches, one leading to the gallery and the other to the ambulatory.
Built between 1887 and 1890, Galleria Umberto I is a commercial gallery in Naples. Its interior consists of two orthogonal streets covered by an iron and glass structure, with four palaces accessible from the central octagon.
- Pompeii Archaeological Park - After the guided tour of Naples, head to Pompeii to visit the ancient Roman ruins of the town destroyed and buried by Vesuvius in 79 AD. Shops, streets, brothels, theaters, and all the remnants of this great civilization are still there, over 2000 years later.
