Additional Information
This journey involves a phased itinerary designed to showcase the unique natural attractions within the Etna Park reserve, up to an elevation of about 2000 meters. Our knowledgeable staff, utilizing 4x4 vehicles, will provide you with a thrilling and entertaining experience. We’ll start by exploring the lava flows that once threatened entire communities, then move on to visit extinct craters and the awe-inspiring Valle del Bove lookout point. We’ll weave our way down the volcano to visit a lava tube cave, equipped with a helmet and caving lights. We’ll conclude the tour with a tasting of traditional Sicilian dishes.
IMPORTANT REMARKS: If you own a car, we recommend you to drive to our rendezvous point in Trecastagni at MontataGrande.
LANGUAGE: During peak season, demand for certain languages may exceed supply. If this happens, a tour guide proficient in the requested language will be available at the planned tour locations.
- Closed tennis or trekking shoes compulsory. No sandals!

Wonderful tour and farm experience! - We had a great day with our tour led by Luca (with support from Alessio… apologies if I’m spelling either guide’s name incorrectly!). It was just the four of us, and we were impressed by Luca’s extensive knowledge about Mt Etna, volcanoes and geology generally, we learned a lot. And the farm and food at the end was wonderful - free samples of Etna based products, and then we bought a full lunch that was delicious. Our kids enjoyed the farm animals ; ) The only thing I’d suggest is really paying attention to your own comfort levels with walking along the extremely windy sections on the mountain - in hindsight that felt a bit risky (for our younger smaller son anyhow)… but really was up to us to say so! Also good to pack yourself a small snack, the tour starts early and didn’t get back to the farm until maybe 1pm or bit after. But overall a great day, highly recommended!

Extremely interesting tour - Our guide Orazio was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of interesting information about the history of Etna. His french was excellent! The tour was fun, the visit of the grotto was really cool and the food tasting at the end was great. If you are looking for an easy tour, I recommend 100%

Excellent - The 4x4 Tour was something that our whole family really enjoyed (our kids are 7 and 10)! Lucca was our tour guide and took us to several different parts of Mt. Etna. We loved having a personal guide who shared about his personal connection to Mt. Etna and the history/connection the mountain has to Sicilians. Lucca was engaging and shared so many interesting things about Mt. Etna. Going off-road was a lot of fun too. Our kids especially loved touring the lava tube. That was pretty amazing! Afterward, we went back to our meeting point and ate a delicious traditional Sicilian lunch and did a tasting of some regional products. Would definitely recommend this tour!

A highlight of our visit to Sicily... simply excellent - This was a fantastic experience, and the Etna Excursion team did a wonderful job. Their reception area is perfect, with easy parking, restrooms and local specialities to buy. Carmelo was a very knowledgeable, very enthusiastic, and energetic guide.
Can't recommend this experience high enough.

Mt Etna 4x4 Tour and Tasting Experience - We had an amazing 4x4 tour of Etna with guide Peter. He was very knowledgeable and we learned so much, not just about Mt Etna itself, but volcanoes and geology in general. An exciting walk aound one of the craters and then on to explore a lava tube in our safety helmets. Finished off by a wonderful tasting experience back at the meeting point. Thank you again to Peter for his interest in his job and making it a fantastic tour. Highly recommended.

Great trip only marred by lack of space in vehicle for 6 adults - Luca our guide was very knowledgeable and made the experience really entertaining and enjoyable.
The only downside of the trip was the number of people in the vehicle. (a Nissan Pathfinder). We booked as a group of four but on arrival found another couple were being paired up with us. The third row of seats was very limited in space and probably designed for kids not adults which made travelling in the vehicle very uncomfortable for two of the passengers
We had lunch at the farmhouse after our trip which was delicious and good value for money
