Perfect outing in Messina - Perfect! Learned to make the most delicious tiramisu, pasta and an appetizer. So much fun and we immediately made a shopping list so we could make at home. Conseula was the most gracious hostess. Her house is so charming and she picked us up and dropped us back off. Couldn't have asked for a better outing. Plenty of time left over to explore Meßina too!

Magical - Mariella met us at the port and we walked to her flat near the Cathedral. She used Google Translate to chat to us which worked well but was sometimes hilarious! She lives in a charming third floor flat, but there is a small lift so don’t be daunted. Mariella and Giovanni made the whole experience very enjoyable by their warmth and friendliness. Mariella helped us make fresh pasta - tagliatelle and ravioli for our main course, and to fill locally bought cannoli for dessert. We had Prosecco, wine and appetisers all made from local ingredients. A wonderful array of Sicilian cuisine. We felt we had an authentic taste of Sicily in more ways than one. Being guests in Mariella’s home and eating pasta made with our own fair hands was amazing, but also hearing a violin playing Schubert in the Cathedral at noon while we were enjoying our delicious lunch made it just magical. We would thoroughly recommend.

Excellent cooking experience - My wife Sherry wanted to know how to make pasta from scratch, so I found a Viator tour that was exactly what she wanted. We were picked up at Cathedral and driven to her beautiful home overlooking the city. Mariana was a gracious and kind woman who did not speak English! She used a translator ap which worked wonderfully. She was a wonderful host and chef. I made my first homemade pasta from scratch, as well! We ha a delicious and delightful experience,. Good food, wonderful home, and an amazing hostess!

Great experience. Highly recommend. - It was an absolute dream to cook with Rosella and her family in their home. The pasta was so delicious. The directions to her home took us to an odd location. Thankfully, Rosella was great thru WhatsApp and after a short 500m walk we were at her building. A tip for others, if you are doing this during a cruise, book a private car for both ways. The taxi fleeced us for 70 euro to go 1.7 miles. This is not walkable from the port so we took a cab. The expo was amazing though! You’ll be assigned a local cook after you book, perhaps your location will be walkable!

What A Wonderful and Amazing Experience! - Where do I begin… If you plan on taking a pasta making class, I’d highly recommended this one. I guarantee you’ll feel as wonderful and welcomed as we did ending the evening with this wonderful and inviting couple. Rossella and Giuseppe. During the course we sampled sparkling wine, snacks and appetizers, made our pasta from scratch, learned about the local culture and discussed ingredients for authentic red and white cream sauces. We closed out the afternoon by enjoying our delicious creations with a wonderful bottle of paired red wine and freshly made cannolis. On our departure, we were each gifted a parting gift from Rossella. This afternoon was the BEST part of visiting Vanetta. AWESOME from start to finish. I can’t say enough about this wonderful experience and guarantee you’ll feel the same way.

Sicilian for a day! - Our cooking class with Mariella was everything we hoped for and more! Our family of 6 laughed and had a great time and with the help of Google translate, we cooked pasta, focaccia, and other Sicilian dishes! We were in Messina for a cruise ship port, and booked the cooking class. Mariella and her sister in law picked us up and took us to her home, with a gorgeous view overlooking the Messina straight. This was different than a typical tourist day and we highly recommend! Mariella is the sweetest and we felt truly welcomed into her home and visiting a family member!
