Embark on a one-day journey to the Lake District National Park, starting from Liverpool. This is your chance to marvel at the remarkable scenery of this breathtaking National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

From Liverpool, we head towards the Lake District via the M6 Motorway. In roughly two hours, we’ll reach our destination—the Lake District.

As we begin our tour of the Lake District, we’ll explore the medieval settlement of Hawkshead, known for its affiliations with Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth.

Prepare for stunning vistas as we delve into the heart of the Lake District from Hawkshead, providing ample opportunities for pit stops and photographs.

Your Lake District excursion wouldn’t be complete without a scenic cruise on one of the noteworthy lakes. Absorb the unparalleled views of the lake surrounded by the fell ranges from a vantage point on the water!

As we wrap up our tour of the Lake District, we will journey back to Liverpool, arriving approximately at 18:30. Please note that children should be at least 5 years old to participate in this tour.

Please note the heritage railway is only available 1st April - 29th October, during the winter the tour will include a lake cruise only. This is reflected in the price.

Thanks, David! - David was so kind, excellent driver and very punctual. We had a lovely day all around the lakes and beautiful countryside. The ferry was just long enough to enjoy but not too long and the short train ride was a treat. We are so glad we didn’t drive those narrow streets and have to navigate the traffic. Great day!!

Good agency for Lake District day trips - This day trip from Liverpool to the Lake District, run by the Mountain Goat tour agency, was good. Gene/Jean(?) was our driver/guide and she was excellent at both driving around the really narrow roads and she was knowledgeable about the area. The sights were pleasant and I particularly enjoyed the Tarn Hows area. Not a fault of the agency but the Lake Windermere boat was quite crowded with tourists and it was a bit stressful. Also, the tour lasted just over 10 hours, not the 9 hours advertised.

Great tour - Viator needs to update meeting info though! - I liked the tour - the guide was great and very knowledgeable! However please note if you book on Viator - the meeting time is INCORRECT! It says “meet at 9:25am for a 9:30am departure” but you actually need to be there at 8:55am for a 9am departure. I almost missed the tour because of this error. I arrived at 9:20am thinking I was early because of these instructions.

Horrible experience - I booked and pre-paid for the tour starting from Liverpool on July 2nd for July 13th. They canceled the tour with me and my family finding it out after going to the meeting point and waiting for 30 minutes for the bus to show up on the same day of July-13. Upon me calling them, they offered for a change for Friday's tour starting from... Manchester. Only after a lot of push, they offered to return the money back which I am still expecting and have not received it back to my bank account. Really horrible experience.
