Hellgate canyon is the place where the Rogue River enters the coastal range of mountains and is an incredible site to take in. This trip has the perfect amount of whitewater to challenge anyone who wants to learn to inflatable kayak or to entertain the younger kids who choose to join us in a raft. This is a great half-day on the Rogue River for anyone looking for a fun and scenic float with just the right amount of whitewater.

Our half-day journey along the Rogue River through the Hellgate Canyon presents the most picturesque scenery of all our half-day expeditions. The intimidating cliffs of Hellgate Canyon emerge from the river’s edge, serving as a dramatic boundary before the rapids downstream. As we navigate through the canyon, ospreys and eagles soar above us, scanning the river below for their prey. The journey takes us through two unique gorges and wraps up with two of the top class II rapids on the daytime stretch of the Rogue River. This is the perfect adventure for those wanting to try out inflatable kayaking or families with young children looking for an exciting rafting experience.

Fantastic white water kayaking adventure - Kruse was a great, friendly, knowledgeable guide, who made us feel very safe! Next time we’d definitely try something more daring!

Ride some great rapids on the Rogue River! - My family did a half day rafting trip with Kalen. He was great and taught us a lot about how to raft. We were quite apprehensive to start with and he gave us clear instructions on how to encounter each rapid. We can't believe we finished off with a Class IV rapid. Our family of 5 with teenage kids had a team building experience and worked together as a unit, which is not always the case with us. He was engaging and entertaining. It was really fun and we had a blast. This is a must do activity in Southern Oregon.

Great experience, very fun - Had a really amazing time doing this. It's not just a river rafting ride, it's a history lesson as well. Our guide, Mike, was awesome and very knowledgeable about the history of the area.

Beautiful trip - It was such a nice trip, relaxing at most points, wet and exciting at others. Breathtaking beauty of the rogue and surroundings. You feel a bit like a poineer because you can't see roads or cars really...very natural. Our family loved it. Our Guide Chip was excellent.

Rogue River Rafting - We had the BEST time rafting with this company! I brought my 7 year-old daughter and my 15 year-old son with and it was so much fun! Patrick was not only an amazing guide but also a great teacher. This experience was a perfect introduction to rafting and I highly recommend it.

Great time on the Rogue River - My wife and I took the 1/2 day trip on the Rogue River. We had a great time. The scenery was fantastic. Our guide Matt did a great job and was very informative. He made sure our trip was successful and safe. I would highly recommend Orange Torpedo Trips.

Great family experience - We had a fun, interesting and exciting ride. Our tour guide, Nicole, steered us (two families, kids 9-14) safely along the river and through the whitewater. We could also jump into the river, try to steer etc. She was really good at pointing out wildlife, so we could spot a bald eagle, ospreys (even some fishing), a turkey vulture, a mink… We had an outside temperature of 100F, so taking dips was highly appreciated. All of us had a terribly awesome and fun time. 100% recommended!

The beautiful Rogue! - Had a wonderful time. Patrick and Brooke were so fun, informative, and very experienced. We chose the less adventurous route where Patrick did all the work and we enjoyed the scenery. Saw bald eagle, turtles, junior eagles, blue heron, egrets, salmon, and beautiful scenery. We learned some interesting facts about the area and We did get to go over a few class 2 rapids. That was great!
Next time, I'm doing the overnight trip!
