Additional Information

The Rogue River all-round enthusiast is the journey meant for the team torn between different experiences, hence opting for a bit of everything. Begin your day by paddling in a personal inflatable kayak across the untouched water bodies at the base of Hellgate Canyon. Challenge yourself by navigating through the class II rapids of the Rogue River in the same kayak! Our skilled instructors will equip you with the necessary skills and guide you along the path, but the final rowing will be a test of your mettle, and we believe you’re up for it!

In the afternoon, the squad can kick back and enjoy a sumptuous lunch on our terrace while indulging in a few rounds of ladder golf. Post meal, we hop into the van for a quick ride to the starting point of the Nugget Falls section on the Rogue River. This river stretch promises even larger whitewater, making it necessary for us to board a paddle raft and navigate as a team through the churning rapids. The thrill escalates throughout the afternoon, climaxing with the renowned Tilomikh falls, a double-drop waterfall cascading down over 10 feet.

Highly recommend the thrill seeker!! - The thrill seeker was definitely worth it! Kayaking in the morning and rafting in the afternoon were amazing experiences, and I don’t know which one I enjoyed more! Lunch was delicious and filling, and our guide, Disney, was the absolute best :)

Incredible First Time Experience! - What an incredible experience! We chose the Thrill Seeker to get a good mixture of both the kayak and raft, and both really gave completely different experiences so I'm glad we opted for the full day to fit in both. All the tour guides were amazing, but Disney really made our trip exceptional and so much fun. This was our first time kayaking and rafting on the river and she really helped get us confident and comfortable on the water from the start. She went over verbally what to expect with each set of rapids and how we were going to handle them to help us mentally prepare. She truly knows how to guide and work with a group of completely random people to help make them a team. She also, without hesitation, helped rescue a lone kayaker's kayak from the class 4 rapids and then offered to help get him back to the boat ramp since he had just lost his paddle and belongings. She just went the extra mile with every aspect of today's trip and we can't say enough about how wonderful it was! I will say, another group really struggled because they were NOT listening to their guide and completely talked over her the whole time, so please listen! They know what they're doing if you give them a chance to help you. Thank you Orange Torpedo for the absolutely fantastic day! We will DEFINITELY be coming back for more!

Amazing Experience Every Time - If want to experience the wild and scenic portion of the Rogue you need to go with Orange Torpedo Trips. I look forward to the 3 day trip each summer and it never disappoints. All of their guides are experienced and knowledgeable about the river and make you feel safe every step of the way. Each day is full of fun and splashy rapids with safe and fun ways of running them explained to you by the staff. The lodges each nights are a rustic and fun experience. This is an "unplug and take it all in" vacation with beautiful nature and memorable moments. This is truly the best outfit on the Rogue, get after it!

Amazing Roque River Outfitter - We Never rafted on the Rogue River and Orange Torpedo went above and beyond to help us outfit our trip and prepare us for our adventure. When we weren’t confident enough to go through Blossom bar, one of their guides came to our aide! They truly are a top notch outfitter and go to great lengths to provide a safe experience for everyone!

Thrill seeker - Me and my girlfriend did the thrill seeker for my birthday in June! Had an amazing time! Garret was our guide, he knocked it out and the weather was about perfect. Can’t wait to do it again!

Adventuresome Fun Family Trip for older parents with young adults - Awesome fun three day, two night trip on the Rogue River through the Wild and Scenic section with our extended family. Paddle rafts give plenty of exercise and engagement for the more cautious, while kayaks are an awesome fun alternative for fit thrill seekers of all ages. Orange Torpedo staff team of Mike Slegel, Cory, Chris, Scott and Greyson guided us through varied geologic formations and levels of rapids, teaching techniques and skills, while demonstrating it themselves. Rapids through canyons and forests allowed for engagement with thrilling challenges, always with safety in mind; while calm peaceful stretches of river allowed for viewing of bald eagles, osprey, great blue herons, sunning turtles, swimming snakes and other wildlife. Mike Slegel’s knowledge of historic characters and locations along the river, with his unmatched storytelling skills, combined with short hikes to abandoned cabins and the Rogue River Ranch, brought history to life. Chris’ incredible energy and enthusiasm along with his amazing lunches along the river, made for delicious refueling. His photographic skills combined with the generous company policy of freely sharing the photos, makes for fun post-trip memories, delivered within hours of ending the trip. Rustic lodges provided hot showers and comfortable beds with delicious dinners, games, guitars, fishing and the opportunity to recharge. The lack of internet connection for three days topped off an awesome and fulfilling multi-generational family vacation.

Thrill Seeker - We went on the Thrill Seeker over Labor Day weekend. In the morning we had Kalen and the kayaks. What a great trip. The river was ours. Kalen was wonderful and very informative, we learned a bunch of stuff and afterwards we had confidence that we could kayak on our own if we wanted to (as long as we didn’t try to be too brave). In the afternoon we had Captain Garrett. Our boat had a couple about our age from Georgia and their son and his girlfriend. What a great boat!!! Garrett did most of the work and we were grateful. Our arms we weak from the morning trip. Garrett was so stoked because he got air on Nugget. When we were surfing, he got a chance to come up front with us to get into the video!!!! We had so much fun. At the office, everyone was very professional, polite and helpful. I never felt we were a bother. Dealing with the public is hard work but the staff made it look easy. At the Torpedo Bar, Quin was a hoot. At lunch she made us feel so welcome. After our day on the river was over, we sat and talked for a couple hours over beer and felt like family. Kalen joined us and we made new friends. We’ve invited them up to our place any time they want to come. I’m so happy we did this trip. If anyone is on the fence about Orange Torpedo or the Thrill Seeker, we are two overweight, middle 50’s people who demand excellence and would come back again. As for the Thrill Seeker, we are two overweight middle 50’s people who did it! If we can do it, anyone can. Thanks for a great birthday!!!!!

Incredible adventure - Every part of the experience was amazing! The scenery is beautiful, the rapids are exciting and challenging, and the staff is wonderful. Both halves of the trip are sprinkled with short opportunities to catch your breath and enjoy the bounty of natural beauty between adrenaline-inducing rapids. While each whitewater section presents a unique challenge, it's at a very doable pace. I never felt like I couldn't keep up, but I was certainly never bored! The guides are knowledgeable, skilled, and engaging, making the experience even more enjoyable and memorable. I'd recommend Garrett, Dietz, Spencer, and Quinton because they give clear directions about safety and technique, yet still make sure you're having plenty of fun. The entire experience exceeded every possible expectation I could've had. If you do only one outdoorsy in the Rogue Valley, make it an Orange Torpedo trip!!

LOVED everything about this day! - What an amazing day in such a beautiful place. Spencer and Omar were wonderful and made us feel at ease. My 14 year old was beyond nervous for the class IV rapids, but by the end of day was vying for more! This day, especially the afternoon was one adrenaline filled day! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for some serious fun!
