10/10 would recommend - We had Laura as our tour guide! She was a great guide, gave lots of information. Her english was very fluent! The tour around the market was very nice, she knew all the best spots to explain and buy the ingredients for the dishes. We took a bus to a very friendly local lady, who showed us the way to prepare the food. We would definitly recommend this cooking tour and class for people who want to learn some traditional yucutan dishes!

Strongly recommended. - We booked the experience with high hopes and we got exactly what we were expecting. Our guide Laura was super nice, she got us a lot of informations and we had a great time with her and the other couple we shared the experience with. We walked through the market, we tried some tacos for breakfast at the famous "La Tia" shop, we bought everything we needed for the meal preparation and then we took a bus to our host house to start the cooking class experience. Leonor (the host) welcomed us in her house, taught us some secrets about the Mexican cuisine, we have been involved in all the steps of the lunch prep. We strongly recommend the tour and Laura as the guide of it.

More than cooking, sharing. - A human experience as well as great culinary! Laura, our Guide of the Day, shared with us her culture and kindness. Leonor our famous cook, welcomed us in her house. Words of the day: sharing and kindness! Thank you both very much.

See The Side of Merida Most Tourists Miss - This tour takes you to the parts of Merida only locals go, which was such a good experience to have. Not only was it enriching to be among local people getting their produce, riding the bus, and then cooking in a local home, but the food we made was also fantastic. Yucatecan cuisine is very different from the more internationally-known Mexican food, so being able to ask lots of questions was great for a foodie like me. Our guide Luz was very knowledgeable and our host/cooking instructor was so much fun. Something worth noting: The only time you’ll have a/c is on the Uber ride back to your hotel. The market was very warm, as was the home we cooked at, though our host had many fans blowing which helped a lot. Be prepared to sweat it out and have a fantastic time.

Informative and fun - Our group was great, the market tour was exciting, and the food was delicious. A huge thank you to our guide Laura for being a great source of information; looking forward to booking another tour with her after she’s running the place! Or sooner! Another thanks to Roberta for letting us into her home and teaching us the recipes!

Great food workshop with Market visit with knowledgeable guide Laura Lopez - We had a great and delicious day with our family. Our guide Laura Lopez was very helpful and fun and showed us around on the market while buying the ingredients for the courses. Bertha learn us at her place how to cook delicious courses. Our kids really enjoyed it too, as they were actively involved in the cooking. Especially making the empanadas from scratch was a highlight! Would definitely recommend it to everyone!

Authentic Mexican cooking experience. - A really interesting and fun experience learning how to cook delicious Mexican food. Our guide Laura was so friendly, engaging and knowledgeable, plus she really looked after us making sure we were all happy and buying water for the group whilst we were touring the markets. The tour started in the markets where we tried some delicious tacos, and choose all the ingredients we needed for the recipes, trying spices and Mexican sweets along the way. The host family were all so welcoming, Laura was with us through out translating and sharing information about the food and culture. A really excellent experience. Thank you Laura for being a delight

Authentic culinary experience - A great culinary experience, only wishing we had done it earlier in the holiday so that we could use our new knowledge when choosing our meals. Laura was a friendly, helpful and knowledgeable guide, introducing us to the Mérida market and helping choose ingredients for the cooking class. We then went via public bus to the host cook’s house. Leonora our host cook was very welcoming and instructed us on how to cook dishes we had never tried before. We enjoyed the end result and the company. Highly recommend!
